I have Tatum on top of the list for this. Tatum has reliable shooting and finishing with decent ISO moves. On the other hand, Ben always pass up clutch shot attempts to Saric.

Apparently this. Ben's last 3 or 4 games where he has been aggressive in the last 5 minutes of games would definitely have improved that statistic.

Ah.. yeah he’s been more aggressive lately. but how many attempts between Tatum and Ben?

Simmons has always been good in the clutch going back to LSU days. The biggest issue is he hasn't been taking the shots and passing off like you said.

With his more recent aggressive approach at the end of games it will help us win games. I would prefer Ben taking it to the rim in the last 60 seconds than Joel posting it up and getting a double or triple team. Historically Joel hasn't been good in those situations although is getting better. Much harder to stop Simmons... god help us if he ever gets a jump shot too. It will be officially over then.

Sample size...

I dunno about Mitchell but both Simmons and Tatum are probably being buoyed by wide open shots. How many of those Simmons shots are those slip in dunks he gets off of Embiid doubles?

Ha! I was just saying to someone the other day that I noticed Ben has stopped posting Instagram photos of him and his girlfriend for the last month and that it coincided with him playing poorly. Could be something to it then!

Ben needs to spend more time with Joel.... needs to learn that 21 is too young to be settling down with Instagram models when there are "hoes" to be had.

Ben-JJ PnR like ive been saying. On paper, this would be more effective than Ben running PnR with forwards or centers

Frequency increasing. I'd still prefer JJ as ball handler and have Ben as roll man.

I feel like there's going to be some big time complains if Ben makes it to the allstar.

I think it would be better for him not to make it TBH.

If he did make it, it would be a 'thats my boy' move from Bron.

I don't see it happening though, the elephant in the room is Ben's numbers have really been down lately and I just don't see him being an all-star this year. Probably next year, but not this year.....he can concentrate on the Rookie game.

if he made it, i'd just be happy because he has Bron's respect. But aside from that, its more of a label for me. He hasnt been playing well lately, and has been outplayed by Mitchell actually. And I do see him more of a second year player than a Rookie.

Nevertheless, I'm just happy that he was close in making it that one day we will very likely see two members of the allstar team from us.

Well, who cares about all star anyways, the only thing that matters is championships, and I'm sure Ben and Embiid will take us there.

Well he has absolutely no shot of making it, so really not a concern.

I hope Ben doesn't make the team. I don't think he has deserved it... and I think it would be rewarding him before he has earnt it and would have a negative effect on his development.

I think if he had a jumper and was making it at a semi ok clip then yeah no problem, but I feel uncomfortable about him being told he is already "all-star" worthy at this point of his career. He has so much work to do to improve his game that I fear he may actually start believing the "Simmons doesn't need a jump shot to be great" rhetoric.

Miss selection and light a fire under him to aim to make it next year like Joel has.

agree that he doesn deserve it this year. compare his season to embiids last year, and there is a glaring difference between those and embiid didnt make it. i dont agree with the reason. im not counting on a jumper with ben. he doesnt deserve it, because he is inconsistent af, and its mostly cause of his mindset. if he would play aggressive every night, he would absolutely deserve it. bens good games are far better than others who are in allstar conversation. but they dont have that many stinkers like ben. its not like im very unhappy with him, hes a rookie and will hopefully learn to play more consistently, but imo thats the reason he doesnt deserve it and not the lack of a jumper.

Typically he wouldn’t deserve it, but I think he may be about as deserving as Lowry is this season.

Won’t be upset if he doesn’t make it, tho.

Embiid last year deserved it legitimately, but didn’t make it. Simmons is not as good as Embiid was last year.

However, I’m a huge Simmons fan and he will be a perennial all star probably starting next year, or at the worst, the year after.

I think that the league has figured out how to play him right now since he can’t hit a jump shot. He is an all star in all other respects.

In the off-season I wan him to go hard on making 15-18 ft jumpers, and improving his free throws. I would again forget the 3 point shot in the off-season. He is a few years away from being able to hit that shot.

If they are going to switch his shooting hands then they should do it this summer. It may set his shooting progress back a year, but I think it will raise his eventual shooting potential.

I don't think it's fair to compare Simmons to Embiid last year when deciding if he's an all star. He needs to be better than his PG peers for that honor.
