That was terrible, truly pathetic

It reminded me so much of when Benjamin let the Chiefs defensive back just rip the ball away from him a few seasons ago and the Chiefs beat the Panthers. :(

Pulled the video from Reddit. It looks like Batum was surprised Marvin threw him the ball. https://streamable.com/kdnla

We had 2 timeouts there too.. didn't need to force it.

The Hornets will die doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. The Sonics will resurrect.

After 20 or so years of watching and getting invested, I just finally decided I could no longer support this abomination. I'd sort of promised myself after the Wallace trade that if they did it again, I would hate them forever. It didn't even take them doing it yet. We're still almost three weeks from the deed being done. It's that they saw Kemba practically PLEAD not to be traded, to see hundreds of fans protest it, and for the FO to spit on them and ignore their wishes.

I started rooting for the Lakers after the original, real Hornets left, because I'd always liked Magic, Kareem and Worthy. My mistake was dropping them for this garbage assortment of mismanagement and ineptitude. It's like a Browns fan deciding he's finally had it with it. I really mean no harm to the fans here. I don't hate the players, except for MCW and Batum. My vitriol is aimed primarily at MJ and Cho, the architects of the Seattle Supersonics.

Besides, this whole franchise is a joke. They don't even let kids go get autographs 90 minutes before tipoff anymore, unless you sit in the lower bowl. I saw them turning away two fans a couple weeks ago, when there were maybe eight or nine in the building at that point. Sarcasm and hatred aside, this team does not value fan support at all. That, more than the Kemba trade, did it for me. No one on this board matters to that front office, marketing department, ticket sales department or PR department beyond being a walking wallet with a chance of taking advantage of a long dead team's iconic brand to make a quick buck. That much is evident in their marketing, ticket sales and "competition" strategies.

I’ve made up my mind. I’m going on strike. I’m not watching another game this season until Batum is benched or traded or we’re at .500.

see ya in 2021 when our starting five is Trae Young/Malik Monk/Zion Williamson/Cody Zeller/Bol Bol. Our 2020 and 2021 rookies will be rotting on the bench behind Nic Batum and Michael Carter-Williams

I understand where you're coming from and wasn't aware of the autograph thing. I know going to games as a kid, that was something I'd always try to do, so that would irk me too. I could understand if we had a team like the Warriors where there'd just be tons of kids flocking to get an auto, but this is a small market team and fans should be treated special. I haven't had any bad issues at the game myself.

I do find your insistence that this team is moving to be a pretty big reach. I think there are a lot of other teams in the league that would be further up the list as they would come at a cheaper price, such as Memphis.

As to the trading of Kemba, I doubt it was what the franchise had planned to do. Our drafting was mediocre and free agent signing was the same. Heads are going to roll, that's for sure. I'm cautiously optimistic that there is still hope here with the right person in charge.

Our roster is at worst equally talented as Miami's and probably slightly better. The fact our record is basically the opposite of theirs is all coaching.

So, basically until they fire Clifford.

Im in the same boat. Ive already stopped watching games (first time since i started following). I only watch if i check the box score and Monk got minutes, otherwise been skipping them.

If they dont fire Cliff this offseason im out. This charade has gone on long enough.

And they’ve been riddled by injuries from Whiteside to Waiters to Dragic. That’s their 3 best players. Without mentioning that Winslow and Johnson have missed their fair amount of games.

I read an article just this week that Cliff says Monk isn't ready because of his offseason injury and this offseason and next season is the big test for him, I'm so sick of the excuses, they claim they haven't given up on him but I'm a very impatient person, I hope Clifford isn't around once Monk reaches his potential (hopefully the second half of this season or next season).

Ugh... I mean, sure, the injury probably was a legitimate set back, but there is no reason for him to not have made any progress throughout the course of the season, other than because Clifford admittedly ignores player development once the season starts. I find it really hard to believe that this is a case like Vonleh, where the prospect just has no idea how to play basketball at all.

We've wasted so many prime development years of our young players that have played under Clifford because of this. Its one of the most frustrating aspects of him as a coach.

Still can’t believe we lost. I was at the arena last night. Must admit the atmosphere wasn’t very good - because of the trade talks on Kemba.

I saw a poor defense, uncoached team - and don’t let some good offensive plays to influence your mind. We’re so poor. We couldn’t deal with their screening game for the entire game and it looked awful. And we deserved to lose it. Yes. When you’ve got a guy who’s not even trying to fight for a simple pass - your team deserve to lose.

Nic was good out there last night but again we lost because of his laziness in defense, apathy. He simply froze in the 4th quarter when we really needed him to be on fire. At least he raised a bit his trade value - hope that a crazy GM will take him by the trade deadline and we’ll get rid of him unbelievable contract.

Why do you call out Nic's laziness on defense, but nothing when Kemba allowed Wayne Ellington to score 26 (2 points away from his season high)? How is Kemba struggling with a guy who wouldn't be starting if it wasn't for injuries to Goran and Tyler Johnson? If you are talking is the screen where James Johnson scored 2 at the end of the game to make it like 105 to 102, it looked like MKG didn't switch on the down screen, wasn't like Batum just got beat by Johnson going back door.

I can appreciate your optimism because it was once what kept me going, but ultimately you'll find that supporting this embarrassment is a waste of time. Initially I thought that maybe just going back to the Lakers would be best, but really I've found myself actively rooting against the Hornets in addition to that. I was thrilled when they lost yesterday. It's easy to hate your team's rival or the team whose best player you hate. There's no hatred like that of a scorned fan, though.

Without trying to get even more phliosophical, you can't hate anything with as much passion as something you once loved.
