...His TS is only slightly down with everything else up across the board. Forget the superstar word, ...All I’m saying is that he’s having a similar year to last season, which is good.
Ok, nothing to argue about here. It all turns on what you mean by "slightly" & "similar."
Brad's TS% is down from 60.4% last year to 56.2% this year. In my book, that's not "slightly down" it's significantly down. But, it's true that it's significantly down from a truly outstanding %, & that it's still above average for a wing (53.8%). &, yes, overall the rest of his numbers are up from last year, somewhat mitigating the effect of the drop in his scoring numbers.
IOW, he's a well above average NBA SG overall this year. & he's been very durable as well.
The problem is he's paid as if he really were one of the top SGs in the league -- not just one of the top points-per-game SGs but top overall. The other problem is that at his age it was hoped that he'd make a significant move UP this season -- to get into that top group overall. & that hasn't happened, which is worrying in respect of his upside, his ceiling, as a player.
If he improves the rest of this season & next year, fine. If not... it's just one more ratchet down on what this generation of the Wizards can achieve.
