I just think you're being a little too harsh with RJ. He has just gotten back into playing basketball again. I bet if this was 2 years ago you would love him like everyone else did. The only reason people don't like him is because of last year and that was due to injury. Let's see if he gets back to being the Jackson we know and love and so far he is passing the eye test based on how is moving around out there. Also, come on man..... we, and everyone else who has watched these first 2 games, know that the opposing backcourts had big numbers because of how horribly officiated the games were. Both Kemba, Beal, and Walker were marching to the FT line because constant BS calls. Don't put that on RJ. You can't deny his high energy and effort on defense, which has been a major criticism of him in the past. Even SVG said he thought our defense overall was good but it will only look bad because of our TOs and fouls (aka the refs). Jackson simply has not been a defensive liability like people perceived him to be in the past.

Every sports forum I have ever been a part of, has had fans who constantly chatter about the unethical officiating. I don't care what sport. But to continue down that road that the Pistons were emphatically victimized by those unfair referees, just sounds whiny. Sorry.

I watched the game, otherwise I wouldn't talk much about it. I guess that makes me a 'hater.' Or perhaps biased might be more appropriate. Kind of like some of you guys with Leuer. Here's the thing, I'm not really praising Leuer. I just don't think he significantly added to the loss. He didn't have 5 turnovers or shoot pathetically in the first half. He didn't force the P-n-R, Reggie/Andre show that crumbled the halftime lead.

Wasn't too long ago the majority on this board was hoping for a Reggie Jackson trade. Sure looked as if SVG was shopping him aggressively. Do you believe after 2 games, that this guy is performing miracles on the court... or are you really just hinting that he is not as bad as he has been in the recent past?

Anyway, I won't be talking much about what I saw after the free week of NBA league pass ends. I won't have any visual input and certainly won't argue.

I only saw the last 5 minutes but noted that Reggie took 19 shots, with his usual inefficiency, while Tobias only took 10. Was Reggie back to playing hero ball? Or is there another explanation?

Jackson has moved the ball exceptionally well for 7 quarters of basketball this season. The only reason he took over in the 4th is because he was almost single-handedly getting us back into the game so if people are really complaining about Jackson's nearly game saving performance in the 4th last night then I give up.

Tobias deserved more shots for sure but I don't think it had anything to do with Jackson.

So about the reffing in this game?

The league agrees on the two blown calls.

The Wizards are a fraud. Refs cant save them forever. Itll catch up to them.

John Wall is the truth, but they dont have depth. The Pistons have depth and it seems our stars have turned the corner.

You could see the nervousness on John Walls face. Porter knew he hacked Bradley too on the open layup for the lead. They are a weak team, they wont last.
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

I'll agree that the Wiz's depth might be an issue, but if they stay healthy they're one of the best in the East. They did get some 'home cookin' in this one. Some say this equals out over a season, but the Pistons aren't getting much love from the zebras so far. Maybe it's a side effect of being what they were last season. Love the effort and heart so far this season.

Crap teams never get the rub of the green from the refs. You gotta fight through that until it changes.

The encouraging thing is our guys have fought back in every game where last season they would fold like a house of cards.

I never claimed that the refs were perfect. However, the thread was filled with criticism toward the officiating as if bad calls were constant.

SVG. I wonder if he is on steady ground as a coach, or if he might not be on the chopping block soon?

Drummond > Wall

Drummond should have made the the AS team. His passing is way up. His FT shooting is way way up. He's a great rebounder. He plays with a lot of energy.

Total snub.
