Exactly my thoughts. Kidd getting fired is only good if we actually upgrade. Retaining Prunty is the worst case scenario. The schedule is a lot easier in the second half and Jabari will be back so nobody should be fooled when this team plays better down the stretch. Prunty is not the answer.

I will get a cusomized Edens Jersey if in the statement that Kidd lacked the effort and energy needed to remain the Bucks head coach.

This is a very exciting step #1. History has shown Kidd to be a hot mess.

But we've got to nail step #2. i.e. getting the right POBO in place

Don't rush Bucks. This is a big decision.

The consensus among die hard Grizz fans were Fiz wasn't the problem and didn't deserve to be canned. That's awfully telling since when a team is producing dissatisfying results most fans want to go after almost everybody who is associated with the losing.

Which I understand, he wasn't at fault, he didn't have much of a roster to work with. That's way different from him being the guy you want leading your franchise for the foreseeable future. He won 43 games during the 16-17 campaign and his team floundered down the stretch. Despite that floundering (and the reported rift between he and Gasol), he's treated as a guy who worked with a roster and managed to overachieve.

Hint: He didn't.

The guy is passionate, no doubt, but that only gets you so far.

Hopefully the owners realize that who they hire next will have a significant impact on how full that shiny new arena is next season and how much revenue it brings them. So take the time and effort to do it right. I know, that’s not their MO, but we can hope.

I'm waiting to see how many minutes Thon gets before I rate the new coach's competence.

A LETTER TO BUCKS FANS FROM GM JON HORST
Posted: Jan 22, 2018

Dear Bucks fans,

Today we announced that Jason Kidd has been relieved of his coaching duties. I made this decision with the unanimous support of ownership.

Many factors went into this decision, but ultimately we decided that a fresh approach and a change in leadership are needed to continue elevating our team to the next level and bringing us closer to our goal of winning championships. We believe that making this change now is important for the organization and gives our players the best chance to reach their full potential this season and beyond.

Jason oversaw an impressive turnaround in his first year, led the team to two playoff appearances and was instrumental in the development of our young talented players. We appreciate his tireless work and the meaningful contributions he made to the organization and the community. We wish him the best.

Our future is bright. We have a great young core of talented and high-character players, a spectacular new practice facility -- the Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin Sports Science Center -- and a world-class arena opening next season. We also have the NBA’s best fans and we are grateful for your loyal support.

Go Bucks.

Jon Horst

Fixed.

Hell yes JVG to the rescue. He's exactly what we need from our next coach. He would easily maximize our talent on the floor and he's got the type of X and O philosophy to make it all come together. Plus he's got the type of resume that demands respect. He's just like Jason Kidd except he has a brain when it comes to coaching pro ball players. I've been all over JVG for years now, I've been saying he's the one we need to take over for Kidd. Good call Chuck Diesel, start the JVG petition baby!

I wouldn't bet against it. He's still very young but he wasn't ready at this time. He needs to become an assistant coach first and work his way up.

True, but in this case I really don't know how anyone who could reasonably hired as coach could be noticeably worse.
