A LETTER TO BUCKS FANS FROM GM JON HORST
Posted: Jan 22, 2018

Dear Bucks fans,

Today we announced that Jason Kidd has been relieved of his coaching duties. I made this decision with the unanimous support of ownership.

Many factors went into this decision, but ultimately we decided that a fresh approach and a change in leadership are needed to continue elevating our team to the next level and bringing us closer to our goal of winning championships. We believe that making this change now is important for the organization and gives our players the best chance to reach their full potential this season and beyond.

Jason oversaw an impressive turnaround in his first year, led the team to two playoff appearances and was instrumental in the development of our young talented players. We appreciate his tireless work and the meaningful contributions he made to the organization and the community. We wish him the best.

Our future is bright. We have a great young core of talented and high-character players, a spectacular new practice facility -- the Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin Sports Science Center -- and a world-class arena opening next season. We also have the NBA’s best fans and we are grateful for your loyal support.

Go Bucks.

I have to believe Horst and Kidd had some kind ofpower struggle, Kidd starting guys like GP2 and Liggins really made no sense at all when they were cut shortly thereafter.

I hope this was it. Kidd did enough damage to this franchise with his input in front office decisions. His pseudo-GM role was 100 times more harmful to this franchise than his coaching. He inherited Giannis, Middleton, Jabari and has what to show for it?? It's about time LED realized Kidd has no clue what he's doing.

This is just agent talk trying to get his name out there. Don't panic everyone.

Agreed. Monty Williams has been incredibly well-liked by his players. If any of you have a chance, read about the support he gave to Ryan Anderson after his wife died by suicide few years back. Watch the eulogy he gave when his own wife was tragically killed in a car accident a couple years ago. He's a good man and a good leader.

But he also flopped in NO, and its unclear he's the right fit to coach. I'd rather look at Fiz or try to pull Carlisle from the Mavs.

I don't think it's a coincidence it's happening right before Jabari comes back.

Kidd was probably pushing hard behind the scenes for him to be dealt for a better win now piece.

Kidd's emphasis on how young we are could be related for that matter. Bet he would have traded Jabari for a vet in second.

Monty Williams would be a hugely uninspired choice. So he'll probably be it :(

If Kidd wants another job in the NBA he knows he can't say anything

Sure that's how he should act.

But it's not like Kidd is known for exiting gracefully.
