I'd take him over Fizdale

I want someone who has learned from the best, values statistics, can run an offense and a competent defense.

That man? Ettore Messina.

I like Messina as an Xs and Os guy, but you've got to wonder why he hasn't gotten a job already. The rumor is that he's not very personable.

I always figured he was expecting to take over after Pop retires.

I am pleasantly surprised by this development. Going to enjoy this moment before moving on to the nervous, hand wringing stage that is bound to happen before the next coach is selected.

2 minutes after reluctantly resigning from my job I clicked on RealGM to distract myself - and saw this news! At least something good is happening today.

Magic Johnson had a talk show.

Also, Reggie Miller still has a job with TNT somehow.

They have personalities. You might not like them and they might not be smart, but Kidd doesn’t even have a personality.

That's way different from him being the guy you want leading your franchise for the foreseeable future. He won 43 games during the 16-17 campaign and his team floundered down the stretch. Despite that floundering (and the reported rift between he and Gasol), he's treated as a guy who worked with a roster and managed to overachieve.

Hint: He didn't.

The guy is passionate, no doubt, but that only gets you so far.

If his x's and o's and rotations were an issue, they'd have piped up about it I'm sure. We give Kidd the business for it here.

I don't know if he's the answer. I don't know that he's not not the answer either. That's more than you can say about most coaches after an opportunity.

If Kidd wants another job in the NBA he knows he can't say anything

Sure that's how he should act.

But it's not like Kidd is known for exiting gracefully.

If there is one positive thing I will say about Jason Kidd, it's that he seems to have shown a lot of growth as a person. I would be surprised if he was anything but classy in his exit.

Blatt, Messina, Fizdale are all options I would be very happy with.

Jason Kidd was the DJ Wilson of NBA head coaches.

That would be a really good attempt. Not sure if it works, but I would like the hire.

High risk/high reward.

Earl Watson is available, Bledsoe loves him and he's a Kluch sports guy :o ..... lol He's the one guy who makes Kidd look like Pop; legitimately the worst coach I've ever seen. And as a Bucks and Suns fans that's really saying something.

I’ve got to imagine they have someone in mind before they fired Kidd. Firing your head coach with no a, b, or c plan would be stupid

Mags FTW wrote:So who thinks the brass caught wind of our Hammon discussion and hires her?

Too be honest I think Mallory Edens will be pushing hard for Becky, like she did on twitter during the summer when they were looking to interview her for the GM spot. The hire also fits into the owners progressive attitudes and would bring a lot of publicity to the Bucks and the NBA being the first organization to hire a female, and the fact she has spent time with the Spurs and everything else I would think its just to perfect, especially with them pimping the new arena and it being a new era. But who knows how this is going to go, maybe the Spurs truly are screwed and Pop removes himself as coach comes to Milwaukee as POBO and makes Hammon the coach and brings that staff and FO people.

Gotta love the morons who watch 3 Bucks game per year coming out of the woodwork with their "takes" on the Kidd firing.
