My issue with Tres Tinkle is that he doesn’t have a good feel for the game. Sees the floor really well and he’s a really good passer, but he doesn’t notice and doesn’t attack opportunities. Tons of times he passes open shots or dribbles one more time before shooting or laying it up. At times he gets open or really easy buckets and he passes them up. He thinks too much instead of going with the flow. That and his hip flexibility isn’t great. I wouldn’t compare him to Gordon Hayward at all, who has amazing flow and really good flexibility.

as a proud OSU alum I will tell you that Tinlke has no place in this thread. not an NBA player.

I think most see him as a late 1st rounder, however there's a few who do think he's a lotto pick. He's like a swiss army knife. Can do a little bit of everything, but isn't great at any one thing. He's only an average athlete and doesn't have a lot of quickness with the ball. He'll need to get better as a 3pt shooter. His shot is really inconsistent right now. I see his potential being a 2-way SG, but he's got limitations because of his athleticism. One of the biggest positives for him is that he's one of the youngest guys in this class.

What he does really well is that he has advanced moves off the dribble. He’s more athletic than he looks (grabs 7 rebounds a game). He also has great floor vision, often gets into passing lanes and he’s a great passer. He struggles being aggressive and understanding what his role is. He should be a better NBA player than college player, the spacing will open up his mid-range game and his passing ability will shine through, much like Donovan Mitchell’s has. He’s a player with a lot of flashes, but doesn’t flash consistently. The fact that he has flash at all says that eventually he will learn to do it consistently. IMO ball don’t lie. If he can ball, he can ball and he’s shown that he can ball. I think hes more valuable than someone like Kevin Knox.
For me I see him as a guy that should be drafted right after the lottery because his floor is a roleplayer, but he has a high ceiling. His game resembles Paul Pierce to me. I’m just not sure he’s going to have that same fire and that fire is what made Pierce such a good player, because he wasn’t the quickest guy. And I wonder how Pierce’s game would adapt to today’s game.
The last guy compared to Pierce was TJ Warren because Warren “wasn’t very athletic,” but Warren proved to be athletic enough. And Brown is more athletic than Warren. Brown has wrap-around baskets Mid-air. Funny enough Brown is projected to be drafted in around the same spot.

Not seeing the PP comparisons. TJ Warren is nothing like Troy Brown though. TJ Warren was a SF/PF prospect, while Brown is more of a SG/PG prospect(maybe SF down the road). The questions about Warren's athleticism revolved around his position more than anything. Does he have a quickness to be a NBA SF? Even with that, Warren's game is nothing like Brown's.

Brown's case is a bit unusual imo. Most 19yearsolds get drafted because they're either highly skilled, or highly athletic. Right now, I think yes, his passing and vision is better than almost all the 18yearolds out there, but when you compare it to the NBA, it's not nearly as impressive. What's his fallback skill? That's what I want to know from him. Right now, I don't think he has one. I watched the two recent Arizona games, and he didn't respond well when they stopped him in the mid-dribble. He just kicked it back out. He had no answer or any type of counters. They were two of his quieter games, so it's unfair to nitpick on that. But I just don't know what his fallback skill is...especially for the NBA. What can you say he legitimately does well? Be an acceptable 2nd ball handler on the floor? Being a good high IQ passer? Be an ok 3pt shooter? Good defensive instincts? I personally need more than that before I move him anywhere near the lotto. If he were more explosive and quick, he'd be in my top 3 right now.

He reminds me of a much less polished Doncic than PP..

He’s a defender/scorer who can pass. He has a complete game that will translate to the NBA. He can literally do everything. His finishing around the basket is particularly impressive, but he has potential as a shooter (both off the dribble and off of screens), he can be a cutter, he can post up next to the basket, he’s not a point guard and shouldn’t be the primary handler, but he can create for himself when the ball gets to him. And he’s a good passer that plays within the flow of the game. I’m not sure which games you’ve seen, but certain games he plays better than others. He just lacks aggressiveness and doesn’t try to be the man, but occasionally he’ll have a move that will stunt even high level NBA defenders. His lack of aggression is also the problem with his jumper — it’s confidence. And it’s understandable because he’s so young.

He may not be the quickest guy, but again he’s athletic, he changes direction really well, has good body control and he’s fluid. The reason why he’s even able to pick off passes is because he has fluidity.

Want to know how overrated Speed is? Dillon Brooks is a starter, Khris Middleton is a starter, Denzel Valentine is a starter. At this age Brown is more advanced than any of those players and physically more gifted. Physical ability isn’t everything, like I said, if he can ball, he can ball. And he can ball.

I suggest trying to catch more games of his because he’s a rollercoaster, but when he’s good he’s really good.

Billy preston probably will never see the nba so many questions about him. He'd have to change so much around himself

On top of this... he'd be 21yearold rookie by the time the season started. That's insane lol.

When is Bill Self going to get nailed?

Wendell Carter is really impressing me lately. If the top 7 are all off the board I wouldn't mind if the Cavs grabbed him.

Ya I had him as kind of an x factor for a late 1st round pick if he was able to settle down and show his potential. But man that dude just doesnt take his chance seriously and Im with you, I wouldnt be shocked if he never sees a minute in the NBA. What a waste of physical potential.

Yeah, he should be a solid starter in the NBA and that's definitely worth considering after all the players with clearly more potential are off the board – which for me is after the 6th pick (Doncic, Jackson, Young, Ayton, Porter, Bagley). He's somewhere in the group of Bamba, Mikal, Miles, Sexton and potentially Knox and Brown for me, and I wouldn't consider it crazy to pick him with the 7th pick even though I'd probably rank him closer to #10 for now.

Hot Take: Miles Bridges won’t be able to defend the wing in the NBA. He’ll have to try to recover a lot. His lateral movement just isn’t very good.

4s defend wings nowadays. He may not be able to defend quick guys, but he navigates through traffic pretty well, gets into passing lanes and he’s smart. He also gets off the floor quickly and is athletic. Just in terms of sliding with quicker wings, beating shooters off of screens or if he’s on an island with a guard he’s going to be in trouble. He can recover at times when some guys pass him, but starters will destroy him on an island.

He has more value on offense IMO.
