What is Devin Booker's Ceiling?
He's getting 25/4/4 on elite efficiency on an awful team. I think he's 21.
What's his ceiling? Can he be a top 10 player? Top 20? MVP Candidate? All NBA?
He's got a nice jumper, is a good athlete with great size and an awesome first step, good body control, etc. He's also a potentially great passer if you pay attention

If he improves his defense, Ray Allen (with a higher usage rate).

Not nearly as high as everyone thinks. He doesn't look likely to ever be an adequate defender. And I'm not sure he's skilled enough to be a kyrie/kemba/lillard type offensive player.
He needs to convert to PG to become less of a defensive liability.
Top 50-75 player for a few years is probably his ceiling but Im not sure he ever cracks top 100.

Harden is a pretty good comparison. He can literally carry a teams offense, I'd expect him lead the league in PPG and be a an MVP candidate in the future. It's crazy that he's only 21.

This could be the worst post in realgm 2018.

Re: What is Devin Booker's Ceiling?
I'm not sure he has "elite efficiency"...his career eFG is virtually the same as Kobe's. So I guess Kobe had elite efficiency also. (Yeah, Devin's is higher this year but still not near e.g. Curry)
But, I think he could be a top 10 player in the league. He has the physical attributes and skills to be that good.
He should be an All Star next year if he works hard and improves. He could average 30 on his current squad.

He's only 21 and he's an elite scorer. If he can continue to improve his playmaking he'll take his game to the next level. He should be a top 10 player by the age of 25.

Top 5-10 player in the league when he is in that 26-30 range.
Has to compete with Giannis, Kristaps, Towns, Embiid, Lauri, etc.

A more offensively skilled version of Klay Thompson, with way less defensive acumen.

Good point. He's not actually an elite shooter from everywhere on the court.
I think he could be a 28 ppg/6 apg/5 rpg on 60 TS%>>> one day at best

It's odd.. He's almost like a novelty right now. He's had some insane scoring outputs that have just been mehh'd by the general nba public. I think once he goes to a real NBA team.. His ceiling is 2nd best player in whatever present day that is. He's incredibly hard to put a lid on offensively

OP is referring to his efficiency this season. 58 TS% is pretty damn good for a 21-year-old, especially considering Booker's usage rate and lack of help on offense (he's clearly the focal point of every opposing team's defense). Booker has made tremendous strides in his efficiency on offense over the course of his young career.
I've always considered Booker's ceiling to be the second option on offense, but this season has changed my opinion about him. He's definitely one of the hungriest young players in the league and is clearly motivated to become a top dogs in the league.
As the Suns are using him more and more to facilitate the offense his ceiling IMO is a James Harden type of player.

Aren't you the guy who started the Frank Kaminski is better than Devin Booker thread in the player comparison section this offseason?

Booker was voted #4 (guard) in the West by the players in this year all-star vote...but you're not sure he'll ever crack the top 100?
