I think keeping the current core and getting a new coach would be the best option. However the trial period for if that new coach is the solution wouldn’t be answered until the middle of next season.

It’s just a messed up situation all-around and people wonder why I’ve been complaining for the past 5 seasons except for that 3 month span from February-April in 2016.

Kemba Walker's name has come up in trade rumors. He is the team's all-time leader in 3-pointers, and he ranks second in points. Over the past three seasons, six players have averaged 20 points and five assists per game each season: Stephen Curry, James Harden, LeBron James, Damian Lillard, Russell Westbrook and Walker.

Underrated.

it would make sense to try a different coach before blowing up an expensive roster of guys in their prime. but hard to fire clifford this year given the odd circumstances. might as well ride it out, get new coach/gm in summer and give it one last ride.

Temporarily "deputize" me as GM and I will fire Clifford right now and tell him to suck it.

And let Silas be the interim coach the rest of the season? :D

Sure, but with expressed orders to prioritize developing Monk and even letting guys like MKG/Lamb/Cody experiment/develop with their games.

I've been saying for a while that I'd keep the coaches around til the end of the season to help us tank, but they've already done enough in that regard and I think that for the remainder of this year all we need is someone who will play and develop the younger guys.

I'm also terrified that that Clifford still has MJ's support (they are like dumb and dumber) and isn't going to be fired at all anytime soon. I just want him gone asap so I don't have to worry about it anymore.

I honestly think doing that would help us win games rather than continue our losing ways lol.

Thats possible, but the hope would be that Monk's defense combined with some creative tank maneuvering would lose us the games we need to lose. If it looks like we are going to win you can just throw MCW and JOB in there with Monk and as long as Monk doesn't get too hot surely we'd find a way to lose. Tank harder lol.

Draft pick would have to most definitely be involved. Preferably unprotected/

If the Knicks drew the line at...

Frank Ntilikina, Ron Baker and Conditional Knicks 1st (2018: Top 3 Protected / 2019: Top 1 Protected / 2020: Unprotected) for Kemba Walker

... would the Hornets take it or leave it?

Knicks won't do that. They don't even want to give up Frank. I'm not even sure if we're still looking to trade Kemba.

I think we would. I highly doubt N.Y. would

What are the pros and cons of Kemba Walker? How good is he?

Like if I said how does he rate versus a PG of Damian Lillard’s caliber and you had to choose Kemba is better than Lillard or Kemba is worse than Lillard, which would you choose?

I don't watch a lot of Portland games, but Kemba is obviously better at driving to the rim. His 3 point shot isn't as strong as Lillard, but I'd say he isn't far off in that. Overall, Kemba is the better player, but not by much.

It's arguable either way. I used to get into some heated debates on this board about Kemba versus Lillard. The innate difference between the two players is that Lillard attempts two more 3-point shots per game while Kemba is more impressive intangibly

LeBron and Love, Westbrook and George, Leonard and Aldridge, DeRozan and Lowry, Beal and Wall

Those would each have a case too. I think the Knicks would be more likely to give a fair offer for Kemba Walker than Knicks fans would like or Hornets fans seem to expect.
