my recommendation is doing it now

Nah. Too many challenges. It's completely understandable to give Prunty the reins. Just my opinion, but doing a full-on switch has too many complications. A HC needs his own assistants. In-season is just patently not an ideal time for such a thing. Getting Kidd out the door is the most important thing. The Bucks will have a line of HC candidates wanting to coach w/ a Giannis in their midst.

the complication is a small price to pay in order to get started months sooner, this interim thing is a waste of time

btw if this is a premium coaching situation then the new coach should have enough authority to handle it anyway

With that said, I still give him major credit for this move. He made the recommendation to the owners to get rid of Kidd. That had to take balls. Knowing Lasry's relationship with Kidd. And knowing Hammond got shut down last year when he wanted to fire Kidd.

Thankfully the owners finally woke up and realized it was time.

I think Horst is an interim GM imo they’re paying him like 500k... they’ll eat his contract easily if a guy they really believe in comes along

It’s funny I’m watching NBA TV right now and they’re confused on why the Bucks fired Kidd said that he did a lot with the roster without having Parker. It just shows who watches the games or pays attention to this team in the National media.

Watching ESPN right now good to see GM Horst’s Interview on tv!

I think Brent Barry is the only dude I've seen on national tv criticise anything Kidd did.

We should hire him.

None of those talking heads have watched 5 seconds of a Bucks game. Go back to monitoring when LeBrons next bowel movement may happen

Everyone go listen to the SI open floor podcast. A thing of beauty the Kidd firing happens half way into them recording it earlier today and they go off the rails.

Horst probably didn't make any decision but I have no doubt in my mind they made him right a whole business case on firing Kidd and promote it to every owner separately.
So far I like this guy, good job.

Firing Kidd was fair. Almost 4 years are enough.

BUT the coaching staff should fired too.

Not happy with Prunty interim, unless it is for 2 days or 2 weeks tops.

Messina please ... or
McHale did well with Harden-Howard ...
I believe McHale is comfortable handling Giannis like he handled Harden excellent.
Not sure about the Memphis ex coach.
Too cocky for my taste, but most of my concerns are based to lack of knowledge on his coaching due to the fact that I haven't seen alot of Memphis games.
Let's hope we get a coach soon. Prunty and those blond accountants are to blame for this mess too. They didn't help Kidd at all, on the contrary Kidd gave them alot of power managing the Offense and defense X & Os and they were trash and been playing them for too long, everybody has figured us out. So waiting for a full rebuild at the coaching staff too

Barry would probably be an excellent coach. Much better than any of the candidates listed in the poll.

I’d still go with a proven college coach with NBA experience - Tony Bennett.

Side note: TNT analysts criticizing ex-players happens only if they don’t have a relationship with the player. Jason Kidd has a lot of respect as an ex-player, so he’s one of those untouchable guys that these “analysts” won’t criticize. Personally, most players are terrible analysts as well as coaches. Only certain guys can make the transition into both roles competently.

Jason Kidd gets fired and Bucks fans expect the team will instantly get better. We can only hope, but our track record is not very impressive.

Every one of these opinions is biased and takes a short term view only. I basically disagree with all of it.

This is why you believe the national media in almost nothing when it comes to opinion crafting. Doesn’t matter what the subject is, they are usually so far off the mark it’s like the **** twilight zone out there.
