This would save the Hornets $22M overall due to Batum's contract being one year longer than Joakim's.

In the last 5 games Batum is averaging 15.4 points, 4 assists, 4.6 rebounds, and roughly 1.4 made 3s per game. This is after spending much of the year recovering from an early injury.

Sure he is overpaid, but he's contributing on a team that needs guys to do that. Would either Lance Thomas or Noah be able to do so?
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Nic has negative value, but not that negative of a value. I would trade him for something like Wes Matthews and Motley from Dallas.

I just can't see how Dwight couldn't net a first round pick of some kind. The guy has been tearing it up this year!

We should also trade MKG but I don't know what a realistic return would be. I used to think the Lamb fans were semi-trolling but he looks to have put on some weight this year and is killing it when Cliff let him in. I think he can handle MKG's job but be a rich man's MKG because he can actually score and create his own offense. Lamb used to look like Will Smith playing on TFPOBA show, all knees and elbows but you can tell he's been in the gym, IMO.

Dwight's history in LA, Houston, & Atlanta hurt his trade value. He is performing this year, but the perception is that he isn't a good locker room guy and that he doesn't get along well with other superstars.

I'm all for Lamb starting, but he's never going to be the defender MKG is.

Dallas was one of the teams that courted Batum when he was a free agent. They haven’t been able to attract top talent to their team the last few years and that was when they had Dirk. Now that Dirk is on his last legs. I don’t think that helps things at all.

I would offer Batum to them for Wes Matthews and Devin Harris.

We get out from Batums contract while bringing in outside shooting on a shorter contract in Matthews. This opens the option to start Lamb at the 2 and bring Wes off bench.

Devin Harris makes the salary work a bit better and gives us a huge upgrade at backup PG. something Dallas has a surplus of with Smith, Ferrell, Barea, Curry, and Harris.

For Dallas, Batum is a nice do it all forward to play between Smith and Barnes as they can carry scoring load. Carlisle seems like a good coaching match to get most out of Batum.
