Good for him giving a Popovich-like rebuke. What a bunch of horse crap this has been.

Of course Kawhi's camp and the Spurs are going to deny this.... doesn't mean there is nothing to it. I don't think Jalen was making the story up out of thin air.

Yeah I highly doubt there's nothing to it. It's obvious he's not gonna force a trade or anything. But his 2019 player option is definitely in play if this is the feeling. And if GS hangs two more banners, I can't imagine he won't at least test waters.

Kawhi’s camp didn’t have to say anything or even talk to SI. Spurs would definitely deny it either way like they did when Aldridge was in the trading block.

Spurs also denied wanting to move LMA until Pop told the truth this season.

Woj dont gotta make up ****. The league office was giving him draft picks before they were announced on tv. Give him the benefit of the doubt.

Not only this but there were no shortage of tmz-trash headlines with a degree of merit to discuss.

I had to spend 4 hours in the car today and the Leonard story ate up well over half of the SXM airtime, trade scenarios and all. Sad.

Perhaps it was blown out to divert attention from the very real dumpster fire in Cleveland.

Why'd you spend 4 hours in a car, did you get trapped in your car?

I am leaning this way too. Something is definitely going on.

This means nothing. This is agents job. After Hayward news broke out about him signing with Boston his agent came out to downplay and deny everything.

The truth is likely somewhere in the middle. Ie/ Kawhi isn't happy with the Spurs' medical staff's assessment/treatment of his injuries but that doesn't mean he wants out. Its just a disagreement but ESPN n Jalen Rose blow it out of proportion to get hits/go viral.

You know something is going on when the agent is out doing damage control in the media.

He wasn’t, SI contacted him first and the agent also spoke to R.C. Buford before hand

Weren't they they same network who also went full on with Chris Paul and Harden getting into a fist fight after the Clippers game that supposedly happened?

clicks, clicks, and more clicks

I wonder if they are....experimenting this year. Trying new strategies because they know they are getting passed by.

How does that make sense?!

So it would be less likely if they stay quiet n allow the media to continue to blow it up n make it a larger n larger story?! lol

If anything if they stay quiet the media will be saying there's truth to it because Kawhi n his agent aren't refuting it.

None of this makes any sense. Why would he want out of San Antonio? Cuz they don't play him with the injury? I'm sure players are happy that coaching staff wants to take it slow versus putting him out there asap.

Jalen Rose says it's because SAS doesn't go get star players for a super team. Wtf? They are perennial contenders, why would he care? They were blowing out GSW before he went out, so it's not like they can't win the championship. They go out there and get Gasol and LMA so it's not like they are pulling up G league guys and aren't active in free agency.

I think it might be because ever since kawhi been back on the spurs, they haven’t been winning, and maybe there is a little blame on the injury for that. Pop wants him to be back 100% but at the same time kawhi thinks is not just that, he knows is hard to really win with guys like LMA, so is not just his quad that’s the problem.

Not always, especially if BSPN is involved. Tell a lie often enough and it becomes accepted as the truth. Look no further to this cheating/ref bias narrative against NE.

Sources: Kawhi Leonard's rehab creating chilling effect with team
Months of discord centering on elements of treatment, rehabilitation and timetables for return from a right quadriceps injury have had a chilling impact on San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard's relationship with the franchise and coaching staff, league sources told ESPN.

Under president and coach Gregg Popovich and general manager RC Buford, the Spurs have a two-decades-long history of strong relationships with star players, but multiple sources describe Leonard and his camp as "distant" and "disconnected" from the organization.

Beyond the current rehab for the injury that has caused Leonard, an All-NBA forward, to miss most of the regular season, there is work to be done to repair what has been until now a successful partnership.

This is the title and first 3 paragraphs of Woj's piece. Just because the substance of his article was mostly about the frustrating and bizarre nature of kawhi's injury doesn't mean he wasnt trying instigate clicks and views for something that was immediately refuted by RC Buford and Kawhi's uncle.

I trust Woj's sources more.
