Is this technically true? Wasn’t there two quarters of overlap?

I believe Jon Horst is telling the truth. As different accounts trickle out, the timeline comes together...

- As of late, Bucks brass is operating under the assumption that they'll likely part ways with Kidd at the end of the season
- There's a blow up, which is the "last straw," prompting Horst to think "If it's inevitable, why wait?"
- He and Feigin take Kidd to lunch to tell him his services will no longer be needed pending final approval from ownership
- Horst's decision is validated by LED and they begin to call players/agents, then it leaks to Woj
- Thus, the players react to the news before it's "official" (i.e. Kilpatrick's Tweet, Giannis calling Kidd)

Bravo to Horst for taking the reigns and ripping the band-aid off.

Sorry if this was already known in here, but Prunty just said he didn’t find out til after the game that he’d be coaching the rest of the way and it wasn’t a contract thing.

Yeah I'm just curious. Parker played twenty, midds, 15 and Gianni's 37. Surprised there wasn't one minute of overlap.

Good god. We were 22-29 and had jabari go down. Shut down Middleton at that point and we are picking 8 instead of having Dj Wilson..

they'd likely still have picked wilson....because

Nope, we'd have taken Monk.

He's reminded me of Vin Diesel since the first season he was with the Bucks.

I do not see Horst and Feigin going to lunch without having the go ahead from LED to then fire him.

Have we learned yet which pizza restaurant this meeting took place in?

It would be awesome if he had some kind of non-disclosure agreement which indicated that if he disparaged the Bucks organization in any way after termination, he would have to forfeit some or all of his remaining severance pay.

It's a small universe for NBA coaching jobs. With his modest resume, Kidd would be wise not to set all of the bridges on fire....

Coaches kind of have a unique position (since they often support each other) that they can violate their NDAs (which that conversation with Giannis absolutely did), but the teams can't really respond, do anything, or tell their side of the story because no future coach will want to go somewhere where eventually he could be called out.

We need to find out so we can gets the funds together to erect a statue outside of the place, commemorating the moment Horst broke the news to Kidd.

I just read on SBnation that Kidd and Parker weren't on speaking terms? Is that discussed anywhere in this thread or elsewhere on the forums?

There's a link earlier in this thread to Parker's comments today about it. He says it's nonsense.

There’s a link to jsonline in which Jabari says they spoke every day and were on good terms.

i don't buy it, that wasn't really a glaring sell for Kidd, and they even admit there was frustration and whatnot...
