That has to be fake. Wall should not be an all-star. His numbers are down across the board this year and shooting 41.7%. I'll definitely tune out if he was picked.

I would've been fine with Drummond or Kemba taking that last all-star spot. Wall is undeserving this year and got it based on reputation. Beal has been the guy for Washington this year.

I think the all-stars for the west are nearly perfect but would've taken Paul George over Aldridge. Not surprised CP3 missed it since he's been injured a lot. Lou Williams was never making it over any of the guys that actually made it.

Reading the general board, it amazes me how many people are basically excluding Kemba from being considered for the all star because of our team record. The consensus seems to be that Dragic should have got in over Wall, and Kemba is an afterthought. Looking at the stats, Kemba just destroys both of them, especially as you get into the more advanced stats. I thought the all star game was about showing the best players in the game, not showing only the best players on teams with winning records.

I think most of us expected Kemba to get snubbed from the ASG because of the team's record, although you'd think with all of the advanced metrics available nowadays to measure a individual player's value that he'd have a good chance

If Kemba was a Knick he might be starting. 100% would’ve made the ASG game.

Do we finish the season with a better record than Brooklyn?

Watching the Cavs game tonight and I kept thinking they remind me a lot of the Hornets, just with 1 more star player. They have tons of high priced contracts of guys that just don't move the needle enough. Crowder reminds me of MKG. Unlike us, they don't have a solid post presence and I think Dwight or Deandre could really help them there. Wonder if they'll try to move Love before the deadline or just ride this season out since it'll probably be Lebron's last in Cleveland.

Crowder reminds me more of Treveon Graham than MKG to be honest. Crowder outside of Boston really isn't very good

Kyle Kuzma is a hell of a player, I remember someone on this board being a fan. I want to say the hornets either worked him out or liked him a lot.

Kemba absolutely got snubbed, there's no question about it. He's still bringing it statistically, advanced stats are even more kind (RAPM is stellar, on/off is among the top in the league), and it's clear to anyone who follows our team that this roster sans Kemba is bottom five in the NBA.

Sadly if you're a Hornet you have to either by a transcendent player who has been marketed well (early LJ) or the best player on a playoff team (everyone else).

The big marke bias is a **** joke in this league, the Knicks have been hot garbage for ages yet being their best player has special cache? Gtfo. If Porzingis were a Hornet and Kemba a Knick, all else being equal including team record, since both are outside playoffs as of now, I have no doubt Kemba would be an all-star again and the 'unicorn' would be considered an overhyped soft Euro the general board regularly lampooned (and they'd be wrong. I think he's a promising player). I feel bad for the guy, he does everything for us, improves his weaknesses, becomes consistent and efficient, has all the stats to be considered top-12 in a **** conference...and yet for some reason because he's on a small-market team his entire case hinges on the other guys on the roster being good too? It's moronic, and it hurts all small market players not just us.

Well, looks like Cousins' can be had for a lot cheaper. Looks like he tore his Achilles. Dem Pels are about as cursed as we are.

I am wondering if they have pieces Hornets could get. Obviously i looked if they could add Batum, but it's not realistic with Holiday & Davis locked on such contracts already.
At least, it would be easier if S. Hill was not still recovering from injury.

On the other hand, i am not rejoicing by maybe it will help to raise Howard's trade value even during this offseason.

Lots of people are always going to lean towards the negative side when evaluating Kemba because when he came into the league everyone said he would never even be a starting level player, so that is always going to somewhat bias the narrative against Kemba for some people.

If the situation was reversed and Wall was the one putting up amazing impact stats on a team with a bad record the narrative would be that it isn't Wall's fault that his teammates suck and that he was definitely deserving. With Kemba the narrative is that he is overrated and the team sucks because he isn't good enough, even though the numbers say otherwise. If Kemba was putting up "meh" stats on a decent team like Wall is then the narrative would be that Kemba is overrated and only seems so good because of his team.

This study of 25 NBA players and athletes from other sports says that this kind of injury kills 30% of careers, but for those who recover well enough, they'll have limited performance in the next season and virtually full recovery two years after an operation. It does say, however, that it is the worst on NBA players compared to other sports.
