Kemba missing the free throw there was so predictable. You can tell he's not in a good place right now. He's been arguing for calls more than I've ever seen and just needs to get his emotions in check. I think Cliff isn't a strong leader and our players just drop off in the 4th where it takes strong leadership.

Kembas clutchness has really fallen off. I actually think not having Al hurts this, there isn't another reliable closer on the team. Not saying Al was great, but he usually scored at least half the time and wasn't hackable.

yep. kenny smith said this a while a back

if you're getting blown out, that's on the players not having the talent to compete

if you're losing close games, that's on the coach not putting guys in position to win

i like cliff as a person, love what he's done in the organization, and think his work ethic created a new standard for the franchise. but he's not a head coach right now.

I tend to agree. I dont know if he would have been good, but he showed more as an Xs and Os guy than Clifford ever has. Thats a low standard, but still.

I rarely complain about officiating, but that was **** atrocious.

Need a new coach. At what point do we realize that isolating Kemba to go 1-on-1 at the top of the key isn’t a go-to play at the end of games. That’s not to let Kemba off the hook tho because he’s missed some good looks including layups and there even was some missed calls by the refs. I don’t want to see no Dwight post ups either.

:-?

I'm waiting to see how we'll look when Zeller gets back. You could easily make the case that JOB lost us the game with his 3 minutes of fails tonight.

Yep, I agree. MJ probably won't do it so hopefully our new GM will find a steal in the 10-12 range of the draft or the balls to trade up into the Top 5-6 for a star. The bigger issue is how to fire Cliff without us looking like an organization full of douchebags.

I didn't think we had to 'fire' cliff. isn't his contract up anyways? i know he had an extension, a while back tho....

either way, its not hard to fire this guy at all given the team's record. as long as we don't drag his name through the mud or do him dirty, i can't see us looking all that bad for it.

either way, i don't think the coaching change is going to be the magical fix that everyone assumes it'll be. people take our defense and rebounding for granted. i can't see us landing any high profile coach (there's no way we land fizdale imo) so we're probably taking another chance on yet another high profile assistant - and that's a brand new set of growing pains.

i'd rather see cliff turn it around and finish the year strong, get cho up outta here (he did it to himself trying to gauge kemba's value out in the open like that lol), and see how he changes once the heat of a firing forces him out of his comfort zone a bit. i can see us going on a late streak because this team NEEDS the all-star break no matter which direction they go.... i'm not all that excited about either outcome tbh. its a catch22.

a lot of young/new coaches aren't that good for a while. i'd rather see cliff figure it out after all he's done that roll the dice on a new guy because change = good.

I'm still not buying Howards impact. His advanced offensive metrics are still atrocious and a lot of our team offensive metrics have taken hard dives this season with the only major roster change being Howard (and despite Lambs emergence).

Team offense 2016/2017 vs. 2017/2018

ORTG - 14th to 19th
TS% - 17th to 28th
eFG% - 23rd to 30th
AST% - 8th to 28th
3pt attempt rate - 8th to 25th
We're also 25th in FG% at the rim this season and taking far more long 2's than last season.

I'm pretty sure I remember Mysticalapples predicting this would happen at the beginning of the season and pointing out that he has had this exact effect on the efficiency and ball movement of all his recent teams.
