This is what irks me. There's very little Piston ID or consistent strategy in our drafting.

I see teams succeeding by picking long players, or 2 way players, or defensive forwards... Things that are proving to be successful in today's game. We drafted SJ and SVG just goes for offensive skill. Competitive Strategy completely abandoned. No Piston ID.
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.

The more I watch Kennard the better I think he can be, right now he is deferential, he tries to hard to play within the system for now. He's a good rebounder too, I don't think they've really done anything to highlight his offensive talents, he seems to like to drive into the lane quite often, but it's not a regular play they run for him like with Bradley. He just needs reps and he will be fine.

We literally could do this all day, but for some reason we want to make it seem as if the answer was staring everybody straight in the face, and in reality it wasn't. As far as LK, his development and production has nothing to do with what DM is doing other than giving those fuel to continue complaining about something they can never change just like we can't redraft kawai, or giannis, etc.

I am actually beginning to enjoy the complaining, as you can feel the pain in some of these post.

Well the year we drafted Brandon Knight, Kawhi was my top SF pick and Isaiah Thomas was my top pg pick for the Pistons. I don't openly complain about those.

The reason I'm complaining about this one is because I'm tired of SVG talking about defense and effort and then drafting for offense. He talked himself out of drafting a long armed, low center of gravity, defensive minded, insanely athletic, highly skilled combo guard with high level pg experience, who didn't miss a shot at his Pistons workout and who fully expected to be a Piston.

Overdramatic strawman argument... None of those players were even on our radar.

Just an observation but, you seem incredibly intent on shutting this discussion down.

There is consistency.... you just may not agree with it. SVG is consistently drafting shooters. He's also been going after shooters in free agency. He's still trying to build around Dre as a major offensive and defensive force in the paint. He would probably have a much different drafting strategy if he had a stud perimeter scorer he was trying to build around.

I can get that, SVG is one of my favorite basketball minds but execution wise, he's a bumbling idiot.

I'm going to the Utah game on Wednesday. This is probably the game i've most looked forward to in a long time. I'm interested to see if SVG can stop Donovan Mitchell or will Mitchell make the Pistons look silly for not drafting him.
