Would be cool if they put him down in the D-League. Go down and play....teach some of the younger guys, give fans a reason to show up, and generally earn your check. Anytime you don't show up....we can dock your pay for breach of contract.

I would like to see if that pushed him to negotiate. I think it would be great to have this guy come to the table and accept a buyout. Perhaps having to show up to play in the D-League would "tighten the screws".

Is he at practices? Does he participate? Is he not welcome because of the Jim Buss stink? Is he old and worthless? Does he want to play but isn't allowed? Has he stayed in shape? What?

I saw Luol Deng on the set of White Famous lol. I actually Saw Luol Deng at the Golden Globes getting Lit with the cast of Get Out.

This dude is so well read doesn't seem like a Moocher. but Damn man. This dude just keeps getting Dem Checks. it's a great job. check this job out. My guess is that Deng will is willing to tear up the contracts at any point. He wants to play. The problem is probably that his agent wants his cut. Hostage negotiations. We're holding him hostage, he's holding us hostage, his agent is holding the Lakers and Deng, the player whose career they manage, hostage. Lakers and Deng both want to part.

If a work colleague anywhere in a normal office, he'd be fired last year for sleeping on the job or not holding up my end, union or not. I'm usually not sympathetic with the ownership side of things but this deal is rotten for the Lakers, grossly unfair in terms of dollar per on-court contribution. I wouldn't sleep well if I were Deng, I'd probably retire, tear up and renegotiate the contract and ask the Lakers to contribute the amount he left on the table to his charity organizations in his home country over the next few decades.

It's not his fault the Lakers don't want to play him. AFAIK he never refused to put on a jersey or practice, if that was the case they would have suspended him without pay. I imagine if they played him 10 MPG or whatever he'd try his hardest like most players.

1- Luol is not with the team because the team doesn't want him there and is trying to squeeze him to accept a buyout
2- We know the options: trade young talent to move him, buyout, stretch, extension and stretch
3- no there isn't any loophole outside of extend and stretch.
