Do not like this. Hope we don't end up regretting it.

Wow I went from panicking thinking we gave up Ortiz to thinking Brinson and Diaz was pretty decent to wow wtf four guys for someone that isn't a franchise altering player that demanded a trade? We'll see Stearns has rarely been wrong so far, hopefully Yelich hits .300 with 30 HR and 100 RBI and 25 SB in our band box.

I hate this. That is like 3 of our 10 prospects. This **** better win a couple MVPs.

This deal is going to define Stearns tenure as GM for a long time moving forward. Hope he knows what he's doing.

He's actually the one I'm least concerned about of the three hitters. If he lights it up in AA (i assume he will move up to that level) then maybe I will look foolish. I think he's a great sell high candidate though.

Fitting that they announced Johnsonville as the new sausage sponsor. Welcome to mediocrity.

That's a TON to give up. But, if Yelich is the real deal, I'll swallow it.

I still have faith in Stearns. Brinson was a top tier prospect but it's possible the organization had serious concerns that he wasn't going to pan out. Same with Harrison and Diaz.

But we'll soon find out if he made a bad bet.

I'm not in the same league of you guys on analyzing this, but seems like an awful lot to give up for this guy. How much does he move the needle?

I guess we have to trust Stearns, he’s earned it so far, but damn... the franchise doesn’t seem to be in position to make these types of consolidation trades yet.

He's a good player, just how good will be debated.

You've basically hit on the core of the debate. He makes us better, but nowhere close enough to overtaking the Cubs. So now what?

Surprised the real big move wasn't for an ace tbh but I trust Stearns.

I'll take it. Sold high on Yamamoto and Monte Harrison, Diaz had a little bit of a down year and Brinson could be a good player. Yelich gives us a legit leadoff hitter and a great contract. I don't think we're done making moves

I know Monte had a TON of hype from his AFL performance but we are talking about two players in Brinson and Monte who are always hurt with big questions about contact. Diaz regressed last season quite a bit as well. Yamamoto was an under the radar guy who pitches better than his stuff would suggest. It is a lot to give up in terms of prospect values but again like Ive maintained before what your hope for Brinson and Harrison get to is what Yelich is at. It is a nice package for Miami and I could see why they do this deal. Im hoping Santana is now moved for pitching or prospects and we dont try and play Yelich in center.

He will be even better just based off moving to Miller Park

I’m 50/50 on this pending other moves. I said I wouldn’t like it but not giving much pitching up is key.

Gotta trust Stearns eye. Brinson was up last year and got some at bats. Struck out at an alarming rate. You're gonna pay a premium for a guy that has already proven it as we all know. I trust Stearns saw enough of Brinson to weigh the risk / reward

On the surface, it seems like a lot to give up, but I think they had to give up a lot because Yelich is a good player who's controllable for a while. Plus, I trust Stearns, so I'm going to reserve judgement until the end of the offseason. They're apparently still in on Darvish and Cain.
