5/80 is nuts for a 32 year old.

Give me some arms now.

5 years and $80M for a soon-to-be 32 year old Cain?!?! Better have some Mike Cameron genes in that bizzle!

I think Phillips is safe and likely the 4th OF and can expect lots of ABs in Braun's spot. Possibly Yelich can play some days at 1B too if Thames gets hurt or does poorly. I read he played 1B in HS. Phillips probably still gets 3-400 ABs. Santana is gone and who cares about Broxton. If somehow we trade Phillips I'm with Broxton as the 4th but otherwise he had his shot and couldn't hack it.

We might as well sign Escobar and trade for Odorizzi so we can have everyone we traded for Greinke back on the team.

Meddling confirmed. When he sees a little daylight he wants to be on the move. Wonder if this has to do with Attanasio's man-crush for Braun, trying to give him a last gasp before he retires without getting that close to a title. Although that theory could go out the window quick if he's traded shortly after.

They really need to lure one of these aces, Darvish or Arrieta, if they're going to have a shot this year. Still sad to see them give up on the rebuild so soon. It was starting to work. Really should have seen it out.

:banghead: quoting batting average...

but by advanced metrics, twirl is right. add in his defense though and you're looking at a carlos gomez like player

Definitely only looking at batting average is for sure the best way to judge a hitter. When you don't walk much and don't really hit for a ton of power you have to hit close to .300 to be a positive.

Man

This afternoon is a pitcher of 'Woo hoo!' followed by a real dose of hungover. Man...why couldn't they just actually follow an actual rebuild path? This is all wayyyyyy tooooooo fast.

Cain just has to get on base and be solid defensively. Cain was a top ten CF in both categories last season. Gotta hope he doesn't fall off significantly over the next couple seasons.

Now you use Broxton and Santana to bolster the staff.

If the Brewers make the playoffs and go on a memorable run, I'll be fine with paying the tax on the backend.

Lol. It's a lot of money for Cain, but this team has the cash.

Then in 6 years hire a new GM who signs Brinson, Harris, and Diaz to huge deals.

I can’t do anything about it so I’m just going to let it play out and hope everything turns out for the best.
