The one consistent thing I've read tonight is Cain's so athletic that projecting him to fall off immediately isn't a good bet. That he'll be an above average CF for a couple more years.

I have no idea. I don't like signing 30 year olds to FA contracts. Like I've said, I'm more than happy to eat it in 2022 if we're contending in '18-'20 and I think the Brewers will.

Brewers were 30-1 odds for World Series last time I checked. If we think another couple deals go down wouldnt be a bad bet

I am going to guess Stearns already has a deal in place, dominos have already fallen and it would make sense he'd already have the outfielder (most likely Santana) already dealt......Odorizzi maybe

4 years of control at 7-8 per year. Last two years are team options. Pretty much as good as you could possibly hope. This is according to spotrac, which says a bit less than what I just saw posted above.

Teams are faced with decisions about impact moves that might make some people uncomfortable. It’s easy to sit in the middle, but it’s challenging to get good. The Brewers have summoned the courage to go for it...A rebuild only works if you try to make the most of it. Give it to David Stearns and Mark Attanasio — they’re trying. There’s a new young team out there that’s trying to win.

Salazar for Domingo would seem to make sense.

I remember staying up until like 3AM when the rumors were floating that we acquired Greinke.

Now in the span of a few days, we might make a flurry of moves that will have the city buzzing. Fun times.

The ITK clarified that it was a "hot" smaller trade, in addition to Domingo. Whatever that means.

Say what you want about the deals individually or about Stearns, but lining all of this stuff up to fall in succession like dominoes is awfully damn impressive. Cain's physical was complete and passed almost immediately which means he was standing by. Now Santana is going to whichever AL gives them the SP they're after. The prep work and planning that must have went into this and all the scenarios that won't see the light of day is unimaginable. Stearns is a GD magician. If his talent evaluation proves anywhere as sharp as his ability to orchestrate, the Brewers are going to be a power for a long time.

Yup. I remember how sketchy the rumors were, and how I was waiting for Haudricourt to confirm, and he was apparently on a plane and had no clue what was going on until early that morning.

The dominoes haven't fallen yet. We'll know soon enough if he was able to move these other pieces for something that makes sense.
