Denver is not re-signing Barton. They've got major cap issues staring them in the face starting this summer when the Harris extension kicks in.
Maybe not but they should, so wouldn't surprise me if they figure out how to do so.
If Barton's told them he's anticipating a huge payday and they can't get rid of Chandler or any other restricted fa to avoid the lux they'll be looking for expirings like Frye or IT and trying to move Arthur or Chandler or Farried all to avoid it.
Maybe they are not as high on keeping Barton as I have heard , but if they are,and we still managed to trade for him it'll probably cost Osman for a rental we can't pay this summer ...don't see Altman going there unless he can get rid of Isaiah.
There is no figuring out how to do it. Jokic is a RFA this summer. Look at their payroll.

Yeah I know, But I though Chandler wanted out, not sure if he would opt out this summer or not,but that would be one way.
Jokic is a team option, so even if they did something other than keep him on the same curve going into unrestricted fa in 19-20 , they would have to clear space more than Barton to avoid the lux right?
So I guess it would be easier for Denver to just part ways with Barton at the deadline despite him having a great season , but seems like they would just take their chances he will re-sign on a reasonable 1 year deal or something until Chandler comes off the books the following summer assuming he opts in.
I would think Farried and Plumlee would be the 2 contracts that they are trying to move if there are no takers for Chandler at the deadline ahead of a player they want to keep like Barton that will fall off the books if they can't retain him anyway.
