If we keep Monroe over Chandler, we might not win a game the rest of the year. Monroe can't guard anyone.

Any coincidence Chandler, Monroe, Daniels look to be getting a bigger role 2 weeks before the deadline?

Might help N.O avoid other bidders and they can offer him more gauranteed money.

Any coincidence it comes at the end of the game and after he played 51 minutes 3 days ago?

That really sucks...and he had a monster game and so did Davis and they beat the Rockets despite Chris Paul having 38, 8 assists with 0 turnovers.

All star replacement is what they are talking now. Probably should be Paul George, or maybe Chris Paul if games don't matter, but I guess Booker has an outside chance...though Lou would probably edge him out if they passed on the other two.

You don't think that would make them better? I'm pretty sure they are about winning a championship now. It's not like Kawhi is old. He's 26 and the best defensive wing in the league...probably the best defensive player in the league and still can avg 25 a season, hit 3, boards, lead the league in steals, etc. I mean he's pretty much a top 5 player. He's basically untradable. I don't think the Spurs would trade him but if they did it would take something like that.

Brown, Tatum, and Ayton or Bamba is too much to give up, even for Kawhi.

I seriously doubt they get Ayton or Bamba. Though luck shines on them so the Lakers will probably finish with the 8th worst record and win the number 2 pick in the lottery and they will take Ayton and we will look at it and say "Damn, we trade Ayton for Knight!"

Guaranteed 2-5 or the Kings pick next year, probably a top 5, it's too much. Brown and Tatum plus that pick are more valuable the Kawhi and they are the core for winning in Boston for the next decade. Some mix of those assets plus more picks maybe but I don't see all three. L

Kevin Garnett got a similar haul from Boston.

Pick 6
Pick 28
21 year old back up PG
22 year old averaging 16 points, 11 rebounds
23 year old bench player shooting 38% from 3
24 year old starter 12 points, 5 rebounds
34 year old filler vet

vs hypothetical trade for Leonard

Pick 1-10
19 year old averaging 13 points, 5 rebounds
21 year old averaging 14 points, 5 rebounds

Sucks for boogie. He was having a huge year and with him they might have made a 1st round series fun.

Who are the candidates to replace Cousins for ASG?

Yeah, I know the pick protections...I don't think it will be 4 or 5 but if they luck out in lottery it could jump to 2 or 3. Kawhi could help for the next decade moreso, at least than Tatum and Brown and the other is a wildcard.

But cap space is the problem. They can't add that many max players so they can't. I'm not saying Boston should do that but I think it would take a deal somewhat like that to pry Kawhi at least right now and that if he was healthy it would make them better for the next few years at least than the other guys. I probably think higher of Kawhi though.

They probably need to trade for a center. Wonder what team might have one available.

I honestly think that this Cousins injury just cements him staying in New Orleans. They'll still max him and hope he comes back from the injury at 100%

Boogie will appreciate their loyalty and take the money.

Or Cousins realize he needs to join a contender even as a player 80% of his previous self.... because he isnt getting any younger.

He will probably sign a 1 year 20 million dollar contract... to prove his worth.

Pelicans would be dumb to offer a 150 million dollar contract for someone with that injury, it could take 2 years for Cousins to be back to his old self... like all serious leg injuries do (1 year physical, 1 year adjusting)

Pelicans are in a bad place either way.... now Davis may consider asking out.

Can they trade Cousins while being injured?

lol

maybe Suns offer Chandler and Len for Cousins.... hope Cousins come back 70% by next year... re-up him... then in 2020-2021 he's back to his old self.

Sucks for Boogie. Time for the Pels to blow it up. If our doctors and training staff OK it, we should be intrested - especially if it's less than a max contract. Heck, I'd even do a sign and trade to help the Pels a bit, and convince Boogie that he is not leaving his buddy AD in a big pile of dung (only a smaller pile). Tyson and Daniels plus our three 2nd rounders for Boogie now, if he resigns with us?

Can they trade injured players assuming the injured player agrees to it?

Suns better be calling New Orleans, but not to get Cousins..

If New Orleans is wanting to compete for the playoffs this year, Monroe for their 1st rounder. They are desperate!

If New Orleans feels it’s time to rebuild, Ryan McD has to get Anthony Davis. Trade the farm for him, when I mean the farm, I mean the farm. Chriss, Bender, Suns first, MIA pick, Mil pick, etc, I would trade them all.

I hate to say this because the injury but this is the situation that Ryan McD has been waiting for. I would be shocked if we do not deal with them. Let’s go!!!!

Gee, I don't know...what team has an Expiring avg'ing 11.5/8.5/2.5, a former All-Star/All-NBA guy, and a former #5 pick just rotting on a bench...

Seriously, though, who would we want?? No one, really. The only player we want from them just knocked himself out for the next season and a half...Achilles are no joke, and the fact that it happened this late this season, isn't it like a 12-15 month recovery?
