The average age of players with Achilles injuries is 30. And Dominique Wilkins turned out fine after his. Now it depends on the degree of the tear but people assumed the worst with the Hayward injury too, and he looks like he's progressing better than anybody hoped.

I'm just trying to stay optimistic here.

Feel for you guys, seriously.

What absolutely brutal timing and of course feel horrible for Cousins.

I don't condone the trolling. But neither do I condone the policing of thought, and I find it funny that some measly comment has mods/others threatening people for expression about an NBA celebrity. Someone is happy about a Cousins injury? Big surprise. Deep down inside I'm sure there are plenty of people who feel that way, and its OK.

I wonder who Lebron will replace him with in the starting lineup. Hopefully Porzingis will get to start now.

Well to be fair, Hayward broke and dislocated his ankle, not tore his Achilles.

He'll be fine. Still young and his game doesn't necessarily rely on athleticism or explosiveness. I don't think we'll see a drop off at all. Just sucks for this season honestly.

Pretty much this. I don't root for players to get hurt even the players that I don't like to get hurt. But if a guy who I feel is an **** gets hurt I don't feel any pain for them.

Sucks for Boogie and the entire Pelicans squad. Things were just getting good for them. Hope he recovers and is the same player.

This and the thing about prayer has been the two things that have encouraged me.

Yeah, when mine happened my foot went totally limp. My achilles shriveled up on the back of my leg like a snake. At the top of my heel at the base of where my achilles was it was like a hole.

If his foot didn't go limp then maybe it was just a partial tear. Devastating injury either way...

Hope and pray the guy recovers.

Mine snapped clean playing full court on a Sunday, got a MRI on Monday, surgery that Friday, 6 months later I was back to normal. Clean tears are better then ruptures.

Faintest of glimmer of hope here

Well, I can say as a Celtics fan that MAYBE this clears the way to possibly get Davis, but beyond that, why would I want Cousins injured? As a big NFL fan (and I imagine most here), injuries still aren't fun to see happen, no matter how often they do. I'm not down with someone outright celebrating it for some veiled reason like "karma".

Dominique was never the same after his injury. He looked ok and his stats looked great...but he was not the same.
He probably looked better than any other superstar after this kind of injury.

Let's hope is not a full rupture. Shouldn't you know that the Achilles is fully ruptured without MRI? I don't know what happens in case is just a partial tear, but in case of a full rupture the Achilles is not there when you try to touch it.

Awful news in every single way, really bummed out about all this. Was looking forward to finally seeing Boogie in the playoffs, with AD. Really ruins this NBA season for me .

Hope he at least can return to his best no matter how long recovery might take...

Just saying, I think people generally assume the worst with these kind of injuries.
