The average age of players with Achilles injuries is 30. And Dominique Wilkins turned out fine after his. Now it depends on the degree of the tear but people assumed the worst with the Hayward injury too, and he looks like he's progressing better than anybody hoped.
I'm just trying to stay optimistic here.
Well to be fair, Hayward broke and dislocated his ankle, not tore his Achilles.
Just saying, I think people generally assume the worst with these kind of injuries.
Matthews also came back from it much, much better than expected. Has just went back to playing crazy high minutes every game like he did before the injury basically from regular season game 1 since coming to Dallas.
I think it's much, much worse for guards than it is for bigs. Especially for guards who have to change directions all the time. Boogie does that too to a certain degree but that's really not comparable. He's much more crafty and relying on bulldozing through the lane than he is explosive.
