And because he’s a forward - don’t they usually replace w/ someone who is the same position type? I think it will be PG who goes in as a reserve, but who will move up to start from the reserves is the biggest question?

So question....what makes it so hard for players to get back to their same level after an achilles rupture? I tore my ACL before and I havent been the same since, but obviously torn achilles is said to be one of the worst injuries and career threatning

This really sucks for Boogie. Looking like a year he could silence some of his critics.

NO should be on the phone with Utah right now trying to work a deal for Favors.

AD is finally looking to get in the playoffs and they can't afford to let that opportunity slip away.

I the Pels will still max him out. They might put some safety features into that contract though.

I think it's sad b/c it takes a year or so to recover and he's right in his prime.

He's lost at least $150M. Possibly more.

I think he’ll be okay - just gonna be a long recovery and then he’ll be back next season...all the exciting stuff he’s going to miss the rest of this season is what so heartbreaking - starting in the ASG, his first playoffs, etc...and it’s also sad for AD, and the rest of the Pelicans, and their fans. Is his current deal have player option, or does he NEED to sign a new contract?

Regardless, hope the Pels still offer him a great max contract and he signs it and stays. He’s more than proved his worth it and I’m sure he’d still be able to get that from countless other teams.

So terrible. Injuries are just the worst.

I wouldn't be so sure about him losing his money. Brand got close to the max after tearing his. Boogie has never really relied on explosion.

A year? Didn’t Rudy Gay tear his Achilles about this same time last season - maybe even later - and didn’t he play at the start of the reason? I thought it was ~6 months.

I remember Kobe tearing his and although he was older, he was pretty much done.
