This is the worst news in the NBA this season times 100. I may be in the minority but I believed the pels were going to do championship damage in the near future. It sucks, and it's obvious big men haven't been coached in ages, so for what him and AD were doing, and the untapped potential for both if them, is sad. This was the year to taste and maybe have some success in the postseason, which would have springboarded them to eliteness in 2019. So best case, it's a lost season when they really, really needed it. I will pray for dmc to come back 100%, he was on the way to becoming a legend in my opinion. The fact that the pels were the exact opposite of every copycat in this dull league was a huge advantage and I think with one or two more years they could have won it all. Would be huge for the New Orleans.

I thought they could restore that balance, and maybe dominate for a period of years. Hope dmc comes back healthy and can be the player I believed he could be.

Damn this sucks. Guy is a beast and although he’s a hothead gets so much undesevrved criticism for failing to lead the dysfunctional Kong’s anywhere despite abysmal drafting and GMing during his time. Doubt they would have won but I think they would have made a first found series interesting against any of the top 4. Hope he gets better. Skilled player with good size and strength so I think he should come back strong.

I think cousins is a grade a a-hole, but one should never cheer for an injury. It just can’t be justified morally speaking

He seems to be a good dude off the court though, and yeah i definitely don't wish him injuries, that's terrible. BTW I don't like Cousins myself, but can't deny he's an incredible talent.

It's obvious that this team is cursed.
Just yesterday me and a buddy of mine were talking nba.
At some point the convo was for the pels.
Gordon. Evans this season. We couldn't help it but wonder..."how would the pels look like with these two still on the team healthy?"

OFC it didn't happen. And now this. He was my early MVP throughout the 1st month.
I can't imagine how i would have felt if i was a pels fan.

the only positive here is that Cousins is 27. Which is on the young side of achilles injuries

The average age of players with Achilles injuries is 30. And Dominique Wilkins turned out fine after his. Now it depends on the degree of the tear but people assumed the worst with the Hayward injury too, and he looks like he's progressing better than anybody hoped.

I'm just trying to stay optimistic here.

He‘ll come back strong, no doubt about that.

Pelicans would be dumb to offer a 150 million 4 year contract though...

I see them offering a 2 year, 1 year guaranteed, then team option second year.... at 25 Million a year.... so 2 year/50 million

The All-Star game is PURELY for the fans entertainment... it has no bearing. Players dont care about the results, just look at the last 5 years... no defense, everyone letting each other get layups and dunks... its meaningless... so who cares who subs for him.

Cousins just lost a year and a bit out of his career.... and pelicans, who were looking nice, are now back to the drawing board.

I disagree. His game isn't predicated on athleticism and he's still very young. I don't see why he can't be the same player.

Worst news story of the year, and I'm far from a Cousins fan. Just terrible for anyone with a love for the game.

Really interested in what the Pels do now. Do they tank for a pick and resign Boogie on a team friendly deal or do they blow it up completely?

I don't like him as a person, because I think he's a weak and insecure bully, but it's a shame for the league that he got hurt. It's always nice to have a believable villain.
