His game seems to be developing right now and very quickly. To me these players are beginning to look like this in game style.
Ayton: David RobinsonBamba: Dikembe Mutombo
Bagley: Tim Duncan
JJackson: Chris Bosh

David Robinson was probably my favorite non-Suns player at the time and I don't like this comparison very much. The Admiral was much more agile, he could take people off the dribble like a guard, which I don't see in Ayton. Also he was a pretty good defender and Ayton doesn't project as such. I think he ends more a Patrick Ewing game-wise than a David Robinson.
Yeah, these comparisons are off. Bamba being like Mutombo might be pretty close, but otherwise...
I don't know if my historical knowledge goes back for enough for me to draw an appropriate comparison to Ayton. Thick big with elite athleticism, solid post and spot up game, bad defensive instincts and mediocre motor. Honestly, no one really comes to mind.
I've been comparing Bagley to Amare before it was cool (the stepien pod consistently makes this comparison, I've found), and I think that's close. Amare with more motor and less power.
Jaren Jackson is also tough. He's bigger than Bosh. Crazy defensive instincts, a developed outside shot, can face up.
I like all of Jackson, Bagley, Bamba and Mitchell Robinson (for where he's likely to be drafted). Less excited about Ayton.
Really wishing we still had that LAL pick so we could all dream about taking one from that group and also Trae Young.
