First...Monroe is really bad on defense. He knows how to play and I love his passing on offense, but he is too slow and can't jump to save his life so defensively he is like a chair in the paint. Kanter enjoyed the night.
We don't have an starting PF. We have two projects and Dudley. We need a PF to start the season next year, Chriss and Bender are two years away from being consistent enough to start on a team that wants to fight for the playoffs.
Chriss played a horrible game. His basketball IQ is one of the lowest that I have seen in the NBA. And Bender was...he was Bender. The invisible man.
Booker played out of control on offense a few times and he had problems defending Lee. Not a good night at all, but he is our best player and defenses are all over him. Too bad that confrontation with Kanter.
Warren and Jackson were solid. Really happy with Jackson's progression, he is playing like if he was in college again for the last 10 games, he has adapted himself to the league.
This summer we need to change a lot of players on this roster if we want to be competitive for real.
We need an starting PG. We need an starting PF. We need an starting C.
Good synopsis. I'd just say that Bender can be our PF, if and when he gets the minutes and is coached up properly...get Chriss out of here. Or, keep Chriss (let's not all be 'debbie downers' on Chriss after his 1st game back from injury; he's allowed to have a bad night at age 20), and get Bender out of here.
McD is not likely giving up on both of them, especially at their lowest value, so they are here to stay, unfortunately, unless one 'balls out' the rest of the season, which would be possible if they invested in getting a real PG before the Trade Deadline, IMO.
My fear is that we trade away the wrong guy if we're making a decision this early. Even though I like Bender more and think he's probably the better player long term, the fact is, neither guys have shown enough for us to make that decision any time soon. The sooner one explodes, the better

...while in the meantime, neither develops at the rate they need to, and we're stuck trying to figure it out. You are right, I fear that too, but McD should never have put himself in that situation to begin with; stupid move. He should've addressed in immediately and eother traded for more picks, or a veteran star player; he did neither.

Booker does it every possession, Quese does it every time he gets called for a foul, Jackson does it every time he gets called for a foul, TJ is one of the league leaders in technicals (this one is kind of funny though lol), Greg Monroe screams "And 1" and scowls at the ref every time he shoots, it's non-stop. You don't get refs to respect and call fouls for you by shouting and bitching every possession, just play the damn game and stop letting **** reffing get in your head. This isn't to excuse how bad referees have been across the league this year in both calling games and player relations, but they spend more time talking to refs than they do talking on defense.

They are very different players. Tough to evaluate young players, when they are put in poor systems, or vastly changing systems. If either were lights out shooters, they could transcend a poor system. Right now Bender’s problem is lack of aggression, and Chriss is just not smart. If I had to choose, I’d pick Bender, but wait until Chriss has an incredible game.

The Suns don’t get respect for bitching....the Spurs do, the Lakers, the Warriors, the Jazz, the Blazers et al....we have never gotten any love from refs in my 28 years of fandom...keep bitching fellas. I guess they aren’t supposed to be human and accept BS treatment from the refs.....

Ehhh that's fan bias. I'm sure every team aside from veteran teams feel their team is being "picked on". The fact is, the reason why we're getting so many ticky tack fouls is because our players commit them. When these young players complain about dumb, undisciplined fouls that they commit, they're not gonna get a makeup call on the other end. I thought we've gotten a bad deal plenty of times from the refs but I also conveniently ignore the bad calls which happen to go our way because I think they should've been called. I think players have reputations and many times they don't get the 'respect' from refs but in the grand scheme of things, I don't think we're getting picked on. When you're a young team who hasn't fully figured out how to defend without fouling or defend without a refs call, then you're gonna get calls go against you. We happen to be a team full of young players who haven't fully figured that out yet. Booker has only just figured out what he needs to do to draw those 'star' calls although not yet consistently and him complaining without having fully gained the respect of the refs is going to hurt him

I hear ya. But For the most part I get just as upset as the players. I agree with the keep playing thru it mantra, but then we’d be the only team in the league doing that.

What a TOUGH guy going against a smaller 21yo.
