turns out that when you don't have an offense, shooters like Marvin Williams and Treveon Graham don't get nearly as many open looks as they should

I will say that Miami has long prioritized defending against 3 point shots, and their D really bothers Marv in particular.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

marvin and treveon don't belong in the same sentence

they are our lone 40% 3-point shooters this season, Graham at 44%, Marv at 45%. Graham of course takes fewer shots per minute but he's earned his title as a shooter. He knocks them down when he's open.

that's not on cliff

Batum as backup PG

did he not just turn the ball over in the clutch again and heave up trash late in the game too...

like he always does? batum spends the first 3 quarters wanting to believe he's the setup guy then he gets shook and backpedals the entire fourth. been like that for the majority of his time here.

yal acting like cliff doesn't realize kemba is our team's only reliable option. what coach is gonna make treveon and JOB look like real nba players for more than a week at a time? lol

cliff's got issues and im all about calling those otu - but none of those are why this team lost tonight.

I didn’t say he should be in there during crunch time. I just said he should be the backup PG running the second unit PG position when Kemba sits. Lamb starts at SG. Then we could actually play Monk at the SG spot.

In terms of crunch time, somebody besides Kemba is going to have to step up before this team can close out games.

I don't know about this but games like these should fall on the coach.

That depends on who the next coach would be as to whether losing Clifford would be good or bad. I like Tony Bennett and Jay Wright

batum can't even run a fast break anymore but he's supposed to run a half court offense?

this is a lot of a hoping and wishing and whatiffing when the most obvious fact here is that our 2nd string PG, who's one of the worst in the entire league, is out and there's literally no back up

the entire bench played trash tonight and the gm failed to give the team the players it needed to put a functional roster out. you gotta go out of your way to blame this one on clifford...

there's no available coach in the league that could've won this kind of game with no way player to effectively spell kemba and a bench with 5 total fgs along with horrible defense. I hate bonnell, but he's exactly right. people are looking to scapegoat a guy who failed to turn water into wine tonight.

Fact is most coaches can coach. Cliff seems to be a net positive because he connects with the players and they like working with/for him. I don’t deny those things. The problem is results and philosophy. Clifford and his players just aren’t getting it done. Also his coaching strategy is not tailored for today’s NBA. He is a poor situational coach. His teams lack discipline in execution. His rotations are rigid and his young player development is poor. Everybody likes him, but this is a results driven league. Same with Cho. His results speak for themselves.

Bonnell statement is the type of perspective you’d expect from a reporter. They live in a bubble world where it’s hard to displace “tenured” employees.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Bonnel is a piece of doody on the bottom of a shoe.
MIA bench is Winslow, Adebayo, Olynyk & Ellington.
We just got beat twice in a week by Wayne Ellington
MIA won because they are better coached. Again.
