GT #50: OKC Thunder @ Wizards 7:00 PM (NBCSWA/1500 AM)

Post#1 » by Kanyewest » Sun Jan 28, 2018 4:47 am

Washington snap a 2 game losing streak and now have a 7-7 record without John Wall. Frazier's 14 assist total helped Washington achieve 40 assists, a season high for the Wizards. 6 Wizards had double figures including Morris (23), Scott (19), Beal (18), Porter (18), Oubre (15), and Satoransky (11). Washington as a team had a true shooting percentage of 70.8% and also out-rebounded Atlanta 39-32.

While the defense looked sharper without an ailing John Wall and Washington did a good job sharing the ball, it is one game against the worst team by record in the NBA. That being said, it is encouraging to get a win against an Atlanta that beat Washington by 14 points a month ago. Wall did a nice job cheering on his teammates as he seeks a 2nd opinion on his knee this Monday in Cleveland.

Now onto the next game against Oklahoma City. The Thunder will be without Andre Roberson who suffered a leg injury in a win against Detroit. Without Roberson, the Thunder have been one of the worst defensive teams in the league when he missed several games earlier in the season. Washington has to pick it up defensively to contain Westbrook who had 46 points in the last Thursday matchup. Hopefully Bradley Beal can get some revenge on the scoreboard for the karate move that Steven Adams pulled on him.

Here was Washington's last win against OKC where the Wizards played one of their best games in the 2016-17 regular season.

I'm pretty sure DC whooped OKC's ass last year here and the year before and the year before that, even the years when punks thought KD was coming here. They are average with big motors on their team Westbrook and Adams.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

C'mon now. There's no need for that. Wall has a knee injury. He clearly hasn't been right for a while.

I watched the Sixers-Thunder game -- it was terrific. The game was tied w/ 6 minutes left. Then, down 4 with the ball & 2:45 left, a turnover followed by some youthful mistakes took Philly out of it.

The Sixers are an incredibly talented team; it's easy to see why they're 8-2 in their last 10. Embiid is one of the most amazing basketball players I've ever seen. If he stays healthy, there's a title - more than one - in their future!

My only concern for sixers fan is Colangelo messing stuff up. He isn't as bad as Grunfeld but I wouldn't be overly optimistic with 'em in charge.

If Fultz ever learns how to shoot again they can be extremely well balanced.

They'll be great in a few years as long as Embiid, Fultz and Simmons stay healthy. That's a big if.

That will last until the next play that Otto gets bumped while he is in an awkward position. Then he'll start limping again. I really wish he could put on some more muscle mass.
