Call it a hunch but...

Bulls will trade Niko to Milwaukee for Jabari. I have a feeling.

Eh, a bit like trading the cow for magic beans, but hey it worked for Jack!

At the end of the day, the chance of Jabari being as good as a pick around 20 are pretty decent. I'm not super high on him, but I begged for us not to take Dunn in the Butler trade, so what do I know.

Not sure if anyone watched but with Jabari, the Bucks were a legit monster last season

Low and behold, this season, they are not at all

I have my issues with his injury history but I don't doubt the talent at all. He's a damn beast when healthy

Dunn/Lavine/Parker/Markkanen + Portis/Nwaba/Valentine

That's a pretty gah damn good core. Probably the best overall young core in the NBA besides the Sixers

Talent for talent it's a fair trade. Wonder what Parker gets in FA though....

Either that or he's not moved at all. I've learned over the years not to get my hopes up at deadlines when it comes to the Bulls FO

My issue is, how do you pay both Lavine & Parker in the offseason?

I'm assuming you mean philosophically because they can make the numbers work....

But yeah...thats a big roll of the dice. You're basically tying your future to those contracts. Can't see GarPax committing to 2 ACL's like that in one offseason.

It's risky, but if it works and both guys play up to their potential and you hit on a high draft pick? You are dangerously close to becoming A legit contender.

Dunn
Lavine
Parker
Lauri
Ayton

That team has more talent than it would know what to do with.

If there's a Noah for Niko swap....Here's the 2 versions I'd do, I guess.

Noah and their 1st for Niko and Felicio

Or

Noah, Hernangomez, their 1st, the higher of their 2nds, and a future 1st, completely lottery protected.

I could ABSOLUTELY see a deal involving Noah.

I would do it for that sole reason. If you are right about LaVine and Parker and hit with the big in the draft. The rebuild is over and you’re instantly contending.

What's Jabari's contract like? One of my concerns is that The Bulls will sign Jabari and LaVine to big contracts and then won't live up to them due to injuries.

Signing Jabari and LaVine to huge long-term contracts would be a high risk, high reward move. Not sure if our FO has it in them given how conservative they tend to be, but the payoff and the upside if they both turn out can't be understated.

Dunn / LaVine / Parker / Markkanen / Bamba

That's our core for years with everyone in the 20 - 23 years of age, after only 1 year of rebuilding. Yeah I'd absolutely go for it if the opportunity is there, ACLs be damned.

But who knows where the Bucks are with Jabari. Unless they're not planning to re-sign him because of his injury concerns, he's probably untouchable given they're a team on an upswing. If I were Jabari, I'd treat this as my payday: go for the longest guaranteed contract I can get with the most $$$. Even though he's only 22, he won't get this chance again the next time he goes down.

That team would kick some serious a** nightly but 3 ACL injuries scares me pretty badly.

Chances are, it's going to happen again.

Return to Chicago Bulls
