I don't think the Bulls are getting a better off than that for Mirotic.

Maybe someone offered the Pelicans more for their pick.

So he's got a team option but he also has a no-trade clause if it isn't picked up? I've never heard of that before.

Hell of a loophole for Mrotic. Good on his agent.

This confuses me though since if NO is trading a 1st for him I would assume they would want that option picked up and have him for next year at a reasonable number.

I think this is all about clearing money for NOP so they can pony up for Cousins. Not so much about wanting Mirotic.

Really? Knowing the Pelicans they almost surely did this to increase their chances of a playoff berth

They can just use bird rights to reup cousins. If they want to convince AD and even cousins to stay going cheap seems like a poor idea.

True, that is usually their m.o. But then why wouldn't they pick up the option? And if you pick up the option you'd then have the backup to AD/Boogie getting paid 12.5. Apologies if I'm misreading how this clause works. but that made it seem to me a way to clear out Asik's contract to help their cap/tax after Cousin's deal hits the books

Of course. But this is to clear Asik's salary, a guy who doesn't play and is costing them 10 mil for several years and likely more in tax dollars after Cousin's contract hits. You're paying a 1st round pick to clear Asik's deal, Mirotic is just an expiring to facilitate. That's my theory, who knows. Maybe they call PHX next for Monroe.

Too bad Griffin isn't playing tonight vs. Cleveland. I'd like to see that
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Well, it doesn't sound like Doc Rivers is really driving the rebuild in LA. Frank and company are singing a different tune about potential future trades, and Ballmer conspicuously failed to mention Doc when expressing his confidence in the FO after the trade.

He's gone after this year, no? I hope he doesn't end up coaching us next year.

Yeah, might as well fire up the #NoDoc twitter campaign right now. My hope is that LED have learned from the Kidd saga but you never know....

Just in case you guys are missing the days of yore with Jim Paschke, we've got a new Baghdad Bob of the NBA. Kings broadcaster Grant Napear.

Grant carries the water by the metric ton. Every trade they make is a winner. Every move made is one more solid step on the road to being a contender. Ignore the nonsense Vivek and Vlade are doing in the background. It will all work out. 8-)

Sure. He helps them this year try to make the playoffs. Next year they don't resign him and have more money to sign Boogie. Pelicans seeing all the angles.

NoDoc billboard before he is even fired by the Clippers would be hilarious.

Doc would be **** terrible. Plus he would bring that whiny attitude **** here. Or was that more Paul/Griffin and then spread throughout the team? Either way, #NoDoc
