That was really bad... No time out called on purpose to let Barton take that heave was horrible coaching. I also wonder if Barton could have quickly passed that to Craig for the easy layup, he was wide open, but that would have involved Barton passing. I'm pretty ready to see him gone.

Made the mistake of watching the Boston feed. They really earned that most homer broadcast team distinction.

One announcer said “this Craig guy can possibly be complaining right now. I’ve never heard of you, Craig.” I figured it was some Celtic legend, I know they used to have Tom heinson. Turns out it was brian scalabrine :noway:

Tommy only does home games now, Scal for the aways. Didn't catch that, but yeah that was a stupid thing to say.

To be fair, the rest of the league does this all the time as well.

Running against a scrambling defense often leads to a better shot attempt than a SLOB against an organized defense. However, running into a contested off the dribble three is stupid, he should have passed it ahead to put more pressure on the defense.

As an outsider I thought that some silly mistakes on the defensive end put the nail in the coffin. I don't think I've ever seen a player get stuck on a screen as Barton did on that Tatum dunk and Lyles and Jokic had horrible closeouts in the final minutes.

It was part of a larger dialog about how players complain all the time even when commuting obvious fouls. Which the Nuggets were doing all night.

In all fairness, Jokic is continuing in the Gallinari tradition of flopping and whining. At least a couple of times each game, he trails everyone down the floor because he's whining to the officials and his head flops around more than a roster with his neck half severed.

Nuggets definitely got in a “every call is going against us” mindset but some of the calls that scal was complaining about the players complaining about were pretty obviously bad calls. For example, the players weren’t happy that the game wasn’t stopped after the plumlee injury, giving the Celtics a 5 On 4 layup. Pretty reasonable to be upset at that but scal complained about it.

He has to whine when refs rarely call fouls against him, his arms are always full of scratches , I don't think he's habitual floper , he does it sometimes but not that often.

The games I have been too Jokic is getting the c rap beat out of him. Every time down the floor he is catching elbows to the back and chest and guys and constantly grabbing and holding him. If he would flop even 20% of the time he wouldn't be standing the entire game. The way the refs call him and the way Malone does nothing should make them all ashamed.

The Nuggets are "nice guys" and Jokic is perhaps the "nicest". The word is out - play the Nuggets rough, especially Jokic and the Nuggets are easier to beat. They need some attitude but Malone and the front office have made sure all we have is "nice guys".

If you have noticed I have complained about that for nearly 2 years.problem is that Connelly obviously doesn't understand the need and there is no way Malone could handle a real tough guy type player.

Yeah, you'll notice I don't often argue with you. :noway:  But then again, once in a while ... but not on this one.

The Nuggets are third lowest in fouls - that's somewhat a sign of softness, especially on defense. Add in that Jokic wastes many of his fouls on Euro-fouls - meaning he can't subsequently play physical ball.

The Nuggets running the so-called slip-picks all the time - meaning no hard, solid picks. This means it's harder to force mis-matches and/or get open.

They don't fight through picks when on defense, so they end up with two-on-one with a Nugget trailing.

When the Nuggets do get a mis-match while on offense, they usually wait until their opponent can switch back and avoid the mis-match. When there's a mis-match while on defense, they seldom swap back, thus their opponent can take advantage of the mis-matches.

The Nuggets play too soft. If they were playing in the pre-modern era, they'd all be sitting on the bench hoping to get a shot (at best). Yup, they need some attitude and that includes using players like Miller & Jefferson. They are of less value sitting on the bench than playing because veterans of their stature do not typically fear getting a little physical.

IMO Craig is our most physical player and Murray is starting to develop an attitude. Oh yeah, don't forget a Nuggets' fan-favorite whipping boy: Plumlee. He gets a little physical sometimes too.

But that's just my opinion and I've been wrong before.

I strongly disagree. There's nothing wrong with being nice and also look at Malone... he's the biggest tough-ass around; acting/posturing "tough" doesn't get you anywhere, you have it all wrong... #FIREMALONE

You're overanalyzing and probably wrong on a lot of things here. Way too much overanalysis. Also, Richard Jefferson is perhaps the only player on the roster that is bad on this team; he is just a Malone mouthpiece/overseer. Jameer is much better and the team misses him a lot. #FIREMALONE

Wasn't Millsap brought in for his toughness ?

Hey I will admit our announcers can be complete homers. But this group of Celtics players barely complain or when they do they stay prett respectful about it.

Will Barton and Jokic lost their mind any time a foul was called. Barton jumped on Marcus Morris with a stupid foul at the end of the third quarter and still got up and complained like he didn’t do anything.

That’s fair. Scal does talk a lot of **** lol. But it’s a topic that’s been on going during the last few games when they were talking about the league memo. The clippers game inspired it at first. Blake’s whining really set the tone for the rest of the team.

If you are going to use sarcasm, please use green font - otherwise people will suspect you are less than intelligent and/or angry at them.

In this case, you seem to be saying Malone is "the biggest tough-ass" and then imply he is just posturing. Rather contradictory.
