Clips take back 2 bad long term contracts and minor salary to help with your tax burden. In return gives you upgrades at 3 positions (C, SG, 6th man) all at the cost of BRK's pick.

CLE gonna take a hard shot at taking down GSW in the finals with as loaded of a roster as they can get.

C- DJ, TT
PF-Love, Crowder
SF-LBJ, Korver
SG-Bradley, Wade
PG- IT, Lou Will

Clips go full blown tankathon. Unlikely the team will be a player in FA next offseason (those LBJ rumors are hilarious) so taking in extra years from JR and Shump isnt that big of a deal as long as they get serious value from it in the BRK pick.

I'm pretty much as shocked as anyone else the Clips decided to blow it up in insane fashion like this, but gotta roll with it. West wants to rebuild HARD, that much is clear.

I'll be angry beyond words if we move the Brooklyn pick for three expiring player who we'd have no shot at re-signing this summer. We're not even getting out of TT's deal in this.

I'd think you guys would want to keep TT to bust up GSW when they go smallball.

Hell no problem, swap out Frye for TT, give us 3mil and a 2nd, and lets call it a day.

I've no illusion that the pieces the Clippers getting back are worth a damn, with luck one of them might play themselves into a positive asset to be spun later during the offseason or next deadline.

Clips can let all our impending FAs go and basically have garbage like Gallo and Rivers on the roster and ok players like Harris, Johnson, Teodosic, making reasonable money, but still be near capped out and having no good FA willing to come.

We'll take your cap cloggers off your hands, np.

I still wouldn't do it, but then again, I wouldn't build a team around IT so who knows what Gilbert is going to do.

Get that weak stuff outta here.
Cavs are not trading the Nets pick for anyone short of AD or maybe Kemba. So they ain't trading it.
Cavs could get Jordan for Thompson and Crowder but won't give up those assets for a p.o. contract even if he is a slight interior upgrade.
I don't see any deal with LAC before the dl

Well, it's either that or 100% lose Lebron after this season. Why would he stick around if the team isn't trying to win titles?

We'll either have the craziest playoff success story, with Love coming back, in the history of the NBA, or LBJ is already gone.

So back to that old Shumpert/Cavs 1st for Green (Memphis) idea... :D

Green could help fill in while Love recovers and add front court depth for when he gets back. Next year he would be a good player on an expiring and could be moved if necessary to recoup some value. Or he could be a part of the team moving forward depending on what direction it is looking to go. The Cavs pick would at a minimum be lottery protected.

Given the Love injury we will likely do nothing with the pick, but if Charlotte would take 2 all stars that are not healthy one an expiring with it along with 2 expiring fillers I'd consider moving the 6th pick for this package which not only gives us a decent package to contend this season but also solid pieces going forward as opposed to a rookie this summer who may or may not be worth waiting for.https://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/7008682

I think some of the Cavs fans would like to add IT for a bag of chips to that deal and accept it. But sending you guys Evans and sending IT to a third team for an asset could work.

Hi Cavs fans, I'm not here to troll or break any rules. Our teams play soon, so I came over to talk about some things.

I have a question...... do you wish the Cavs would have kept Kyrie and traded Lebron instead?

When the Kyrie trade went down, I was shocked. Kyrie is going to be a Hall of Famer. An all time great.. He's really good and has made tremendous strides..... and he's YOUNGER than lebron! Kyrie is only 25 and about to enter his NBA PRIME. And he was loyal in 2014 and re-signed to a long contract when the team sucked!

Why on earth would you guys want to keep an old Lebron, who continues to sign short contracts....??? He already tainted himself as a mercenary by leaving you guys in 2010 anyway. 33 years old!

meanwhile...Kyrie was a Cavalier die hard since he was drafted. He re-signed with you guys on a long term deal before Lebron went back to Cle.

Any fans here feel the same way? No disrespect or trolling, I'm trying to have a discussion here on the trades that went down

I mostly just wish we traded IT, or will trade IT, or won't re-sign IT, or IT retires from basketball. We had a shot at improving our defense and instead we've just cratered it.

Cavs 1st 2018 outgoing (or 2021 first with some protection) along with Thomas,Shumpert and Zizic.
We get rid of IT3 , and lose Shumpert and ZIzic but get better win now pieces.
Cav's get a stop gap pf aka a poor man's KLove in Vucevic. Cav's also get a upgrade defensively in Payton.
Iwundu is a solid defensive player to make up for losing Shumpert, and he is strong enough to play now.
Never been a huge fan of Vucevic but his numbers are solid and would fit well next to TT or whomever we trade TT for.
Orlando does it to take a flyer on IT3 and get a 1st rounder.

No thanks if I'm Orlando. Most rebuilding teams want younger players, not older players in my opinion.

Orlando has been rebuilding for way too long & have moved on from Payton so they would easily be interested in pairing IT3 with Gordon.
IT Fournier Isaac Gordon Zizic is a veteran all-star or fringe caliber back court with a younger high upside front court and depending on who they draft at 1-3 this year can be solid.

Very simple answer here: Lebron James is the best player of his generation, still in his prime, and on your team. You don't trade him, period.

The issue is that Cleveland really miscalculated the value of the assets they got back in the deal. Crowder is fine as a role player and on a market rate contract. In a limited role he's a nice player. But the Brooklyn pick isn't worth what the other 2 picks were worth and Thomas isn't healthy. Basically, the trade looks like Kyrie Irving for the 5-8 pick in this years draft, a solid role player in Crowder, and an expiring contract (Thomas).

Trade ideal without nets pick on table. clippers/lakers/kings want cap space or nets pick. fyre might not get traded

iman shumpert/frye/rose//jose calderon cavs 1st/ best assets .

Lakers jordan clarkson & julius-randle for cavs iman shumpert & another player & 1st rd pick . shumpert have 1 year 10m left next season . clarkson have 2 years left.

tristan thompson & two 2nd round/future picks maybe derrick-favors or tyson-chandler

joe johnson and tony allen will be free soon. cavs should go hard for tony allen always give warriors a hard time in memphis

Cavs gamble on the future
https://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/7010768
Cav's get Dallas 2018 first
Dallas gets Cav's 2020 2nd from Miami.

Then Cav's trade IT3 to Phoenix for The Miami or Bucks 1st and Williams
