They had to. They were missing 3 players and the game was pretty tight until the last minute.

It was a game in January against a bad team. They didn't have to do anything.

If you care about seeding then every game is important

Dropping one game in January or having your star player playing hurt or tired in the playoffs. Wonder what's more important?

This is the same team who was playing him 39 minutes a night with an injury last month so this isn't really surprising at all.

I think Harden will be okay

Last post season did prove he would be ok with playing all the minutes.

What? He played 36 MPG last year, and guess what, his minutes are down even more this season! 33 year old Lebron is playing more minutes to put that into perspective.

There are many factors that went into his poor playoff performance, trying to pin that on playing 36 MPG in the regular season is very inaccurate. Harden has CP3 to take pressure off of him this year so I think things will be much different in this years playoffs. Him playing 46 in a random January game isn't going to mean anything come playoff time, get real.

I'm happy to stand corrected but I don't know of any research into increased injuries from increased minutes. It would be interesting though. And looking at whether advancing age and high minutes constituted an increased injury risk.

Not sure if it would, for a couple of reasons.

Just don’t think their franchise has learnt anything from how their season ended. He was playing 40 minutes a night while injured before actually missing games. And there’s no reason why you have him go for 46 against an Orlando team.

Harden could play 48 minutes if he wanted, he still only plays on one side, they attack 10 seconds then he rests for 20 seconds

Wonder if LeBron will allow them to trade him.

He’s leaving anyways, might as well reload.

Celtics is the team to beat in the East
Stay in the POs and fight for a seeding, anything is possible right now.

Not so sure, see what Milwaukee and Toronto do at the deadline. Either team could catapult ahead of Boston minus Hayward.

You've posted a bit on this with Harden and also Embiid, so this is clearly something you hold close to you. At this point research is lacking so a lot of player management is educated guess work. In cricket I feel they are too cautious, in NBA maybe too cavalier. Likely the balance is somewhere between. The reality is that injury prevention will probably never be possible, it is about predicting and mitigating risks. Medical people will keep getting better at this, and different sports will do this differently.

The fundamental issue is that there are too many games which detracts from the NBA product. Players are expecting to do too much and games become meaningless. That's another debate.

Harden isn't even playing too many minutes, an MVP candidate playing 36 MPG is absolutely fine. Blazza just likes to find things to complain about

Come playoff time I'd wager the Cavs are still the team to beat, Lebron is just sooooo good and I think IT starts putting it together a bit

Knowing the Bucks luck we will get seed #4 and up end facing the Cavs....

The east is pretty open. Bucks at least have the potential, like several other teams, of making the Finals (before being chum for the Warriors). Need to capitalize on this opportunity. Very much worth it making that Dedmon-level win now center move. May regret not moving Jabari and Middleton in the long run. But you figure it ain't happening regardless. So let's balance out this rotation finally.

LeBron really lucked out with the storyline this season to leave, that’s what the Cavs get for **** on Love. IT becoming besties with Dan Gilbert is even more entertaining.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
