So you're ready to write off his entire NBA career at age 19? Before he's ever played a game?

Yep. You're welcome?

I think it maybe more that we have another SG (Bembry) currently on the roster that can't shoot?

To me, Walker screams "I was more athletic than all these other high schoolers so I became a 5-star and I dunked enough in college such that I can fool people into thinking I have potential so I might end up tricking somebody into drafting me in the 1st round so I'll probably skip any predraft activities that'll have me playing in an actual game setting because I won't be able to fool good scouts in that environment'.

*gasp* man, that was a mouthful. :)

And since apparently @jamalllllllllliver takes everything literally, I'll elaborate. I'm not saying the kid won't be something at some point, I'm saying he won't be something quickly enough to warrant drafting him in the 1st round this year. Better? :-?

I would be greatly alarmed if we're making long-term roster decisions based on our 3rd string SG who might not be with the team beyond 2019.

I honestly don't know much more than the little bit I've seen/read. But he's playing well lately, averaging 19ppg in the last couple of weeks on 45% 3-pt shooting.

Gary Trent Jr. | Duke | Fr. | SG

One of the elite, efficient shooters in this draft, Trent is shooting 43.1 percent from 3-point range and averaging 14.7 points and 4.0 rebounds. He's also an absolute bulldog, the toughest player on this Duke team and has the potential to become a very good NBA defender.

...why is Ayton the best prospect? Ayton’s physical gifts are through the roof and he continues to progress from a skill standpoint. At 7-footer, Ayton has strong, broad shoulders with a lengthy set of arms, plus he’s mobile and a terrific athlete. His post game continues to develop — given Ayton’s frame, that’s bad news for future opponents. He’s scored on 68 of 120 shot attempts on post ups. Ayton’s jump shot is also a major offensive weapon.

Through 22 games, Ayton has made 21 of 43 shots from short and mid-range. And his motor is really starting to hum. Ayton’s development over the last year is notable and it’s evident Sean Miller has had an impact on him.

You could make a case for Bagley, the 6-foot-11 power forward, as player of the year in college basketball. He’s been as productive as any forward in the country, averaging 19.5 points and 10.7 rebounds a game. At his size, Bagley is fluid, quick off his feet and an impressive athlete. A terrific rebounder, Bagley’s second jump and ability to pursue balls off the glass is impressive. He’s reeled in double-digit rebounds in 17 of 21 games this season. The southpaw favors a short running hook across the lane, but he also scores off put-backs, drives from the high post and will make an occasional jump shot. The next step? Becoming a more consistent shooter from the three-point stripe.

Through 20 Euro League games with Real Madrid, Doncic is averaging 17.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.5 assists a game, while shooting 60-percent on his two-point field goals and 34.5-percent on three-point field goals. Doncic has a leg up on others on this list, considering his productivity against older professionals. Doncic has impressive size for a perimeter prospect and his skill level is exceptional. He exudes confidence on the court and his IQ, passing ability and feel for the game all stand out. It should be noted that Doncic is the only player on this list I haven’t evaluated extensively in person. He may be slotted at outside the top three, but there’s certainly strong buzz that he will be considered higher.

Jaren Jackson Jr. at #5? Ahead of Porter and Young? Hmmm...that's a bold pick. I like Jaren's motor and defense around the hoop but when I watch him play I feel like I'm watching a Marvin Williams 2.0. He has fundamentals and can be solid but when you're picking top 5, you are hoping for a little more tha solid in my opinion.

Extremely co-signed. His ceiling seems like it'll be Myles Turner. Useful, but I'd rather gamble on a future star in this draft.

Why Arizona's DeAndre Ayton is the No. 1 NBA prospect for 2018

DeAndre Ayton looks like college basketball's best big man prospect in a long time. What would he bring to an NBA team?

Ayton is a physical freak at 7-feet with a plus-six wingspan. He’s a big time athlete with an ideal frame with very wide shoulders. Ayton is a dominant offensive talent with terrific hands and feet to go with elite upside on defense.

He is not only a ridiculous player now but still has a significant upside.

Offense
Ayton is pretty much the full package here, as evidenced by his 19.5 points per game on 64.9% shooting from two and 34.6% from three despite facing constant double teams.

Ayton’s physical tools, footwork, toughness and touch make him extremely difficult to stop around the basket, while he can get his jumper off whenever he wants due to his size and length.

He has elite vision for the position and not only can quickly kick out of a double team, but he has the athleticism, body control, vision and strength to catch an entry pass or offensive rebound.

To show just how dominant Ayton has been, he’s tops in the Pac-12 in made field goals, field goal percentage, two-point field goals, PER, effective field goal percentage, offensive rating and win shares.

Defense
The biggest area for Ayton to improve at will be as a rim protector, something he’s already made strides at during his freshman season. With Ayton’s physical tools, he should be a dominant shot blocker but hasn’t always shown the same tenacity on defense that he plays with on offense.

In Ayton’s defense, he often plays the four next to center teammate Dusan Ristic...

Still, Ayton averaged 1.3 blocks per game in the non-conference season, while he’s improved that average to 2.3 in Pac-12 play.

Not only does Ayton have elite upside as a rim protector, but he’s shown the lateral quickness and instincts necessary to easily switch onto guards and wings on the perimeter and play impressive on the ball defense, something he’ll get used to in the NBA.

As a rebounder, Ayton has been dominant, especially on defense. He leads the Pac-12 in total rebound percentage, defensive rebound percentage, total rebounds and defensive rebounds, while he’s also first in the league in defensive win shares and second in defensive rating.

Overall
Ayton is one of the top talents at this stage in his development in recent memory and in the average draft would likely be a consensus number one pick.

The race for the worse record is heating up. There could be upwards of 5 teams with worse records than the Hawks once the dust settles.

Trae Young's 44-point explosion helps No. 12 Oklahoma squeeze past Baylor
The super freshman, who has been up and down lately, bounces back with a 31-point second half

The Trae Young experience has been a roller-coaster ride during the past 10 days.

So it's only fitting that Tuesday night's 44-point explosion marked another peak in the wild ride of a season he has orchestrated. Against Baylor, the Sooners star calmly led Oklahoma to a critical bounceback victory against Baylor, 98-96, and did so on an efficient 20 shots. Young made 6 of his 11 3-point attempts, and believe me when I say that his 44 points were as extraordinary as you'll see in the college game.

Young had help, too. But down the stretch -- and especially in the second half as he scored 31 -- it was all Trae Young.

Kid has range like Steph.

Big 12 is probably the best conference in NCAA this year.
