CITY EDITION JERSEY DEBUT NIGHT

JAHLIL IMPROVEMENT CONTINUES

Atkinson praised the 22-year-old’s commitment to getting better in fitness and conditioning.

“You felt his girth and width [on defense],” the coach said. “He’s got great hands. Thirteen rebounds, that’s a good sign tonight. We all see it; he’s gotten into much better shape. It’s really helping him so good to see him getting some minutes tonight.”

“Offensively, Jarrett is really progressing,” Atkinson said. “He is going to be a really good player for us.”

Atkinson revealed that he wants to see more of his younger centers in Allen and Okafor in a two-center rotation. He also acknowledged that Okafor could eventually start at some stage depending on how he and Allen are playing. The former Duke star is happy with his progress on the court.

“It’s very encouraging,” Okafor said. “I’m doing the right thing every day and doing what is asked from me. Hopefully, I can stay on the same trajectory.”

wouldn't mind to see D'Angelo get the start, just to inject some confidence back in him. Just flip flop minutes with him and Crabbe tonight? But I guess with Levert out they're probably going to want him managing the backup point guard.

Trying to stay positive but if RHJ/LeVert aren't playing we have no chance, and even then we'd still lose. Embiid owns us.

On the plus side, this will be good experience for our Center combo

Yeah that would be nice. They can use Whitehead off the bench or just stagger Russell and Dinwiddie. I think they've both been struggling playing as the only ball handlers on the floor. That's a lot of pressure.

I think they need to play Whitehead, let Russell start (its not a matter of him earning it, but he needs to get into a better rhythm), shift DMC to 4 next to Allen.

No Dlo is actually a plus at this stage (not bashing, just stating facts). It's good that we're slowly working Dlo back but until he fully gets back into the groove, he's still a liability overall.

No Levert and RHJ are huge and we're still getting crushed. Hoping for Jahlil and Nik to go ham on their old team though :)

I think there's some good that can come out of this, in that Okafor and Stauskus can gain playing time and confidence with the team and after the ASB when everybody comes back healthy the team can sync up with everyone being able to make a positive impact.

Playing at home. Hope Dlo feels more comfortable and finds his rhythm more easily. Haven't been shooting it well.

Hoping for a competitive game. Maybe Crabbe will be on fire this game. Or Harris perhaps. Or maybe Okafor's competitive juices will get flowing against his old team? And Staukus maybe shoots lights out?

Din and DLo hopefully will have their shots fall tonight. DLo has had a few stretches where he found his game. Maybe they'll be longer stretches tonight. Din is steady. But they'll need help with no LeVert and RHJ.

I don't think we've seen Din/DLO share the court since he's come back have we?

That presentation to Sharon Spencer at the start was a nice gesture. The Brooklynette who was there who looked like she was Blasian was :onfire: :onfire: :onfire: :onfire: :onfire: oh my god please tell me someone can screen cap that so everyone can know who i'm talking about.

DMC being aggressive as hell.

Simmons is wrecking Dinwiddie. bad match up here, we could have used LeVert and RHJ tonight big time
