Otherwise it is an exercise in futility. BKN? CLEV? Yeah, I don't think they made Niko's list... Carry on...

Niko will go anywhere as long as he gets next years contract guaranteed.

Unrestricted/player option in 2019! He'd be a 1-year rental for anybody if things don't work out.

But personally I think it's all hot air. Leonard's gonna end his career in SAS like every other Spur in the last 3 decades. They treat their players right, and it seems totally bogus to me that there'd be animosity on both sides because of an injury.

I would have said the same about Deng. Also, SA (although a gifted org) is a bunch of old dudes...how far are they going for next few years.

1) Niko/Grant for Shump/Zizic/CLE 1st
2) Holiday/Zipser for Asik/Allen/NO 1st (top 10 pro).
3) Lopez for Teletovic, Maker, 2019 lotto pro 1st.

Dunn - Lavine/Arc/Blakeney/Payne
Lavine - Nwaba/Allen
Valentine - Nwaba/Shumpert
Markannen - Portis - Teletovic
Felicio - Zizic - Maker - Asik
+ our 1st, NO 1st, CLE 1st, & MIL 19 1st...

Chances Garpax make THREE trades b4 deadline... 0%

Would you include a future 1st if it meant getting the BKN pick? Like a 2019 lotto protected 1st?

I would hope we could do better than #1, but would do it if that's our best offer. NO probably wouldn't do #2. MIL wouldn't do #3.

Well, Leonard (and Manu, Duncan, Parker, Robinson) are/were better than Deng ever was... but on that note, Spurs have a long history of holding onto their guys through to the end. 2 full decades now, they've retired a lot of players with class. I think Pop just has a really good idea of how to maximize post-prime/declined vets. Balances them really well with younger hustle role-players. At what point do you ignore the pattern? They've won chips with old guys like Brent Barry, Robert Horry, Finley, etc. playing roles, not to mention they're long-time core.

Ya never know, Spurs could decide to blow it up, but I don't see the point. Leonard is a top-5 player when healthy. He registered a 26 PER in his 9 games. He'll be back next year, and he's only 26. Tony Parker comes off the books soon. Pau and Green the next year. They'll have all the cap space they need to max Leonard and add another stud. As usual, there are some mystery pieces being developed and improving each year (Murray, Anderson). They're a top-5 seed even without their best player, and led by 2 post-prime big men in the era of the "dreaded big man."

They're the ultimate masters of managing a basketball team. PerioD. Until Pops calls the quits, I don't see him dumping Leonard unless his game declines to the point of no return, which is hard to fathom. They're being pretty cautious with the injury.

With the injury to cousins, the chances of the Pelicans trading Davis may have gone up to 1% from 0.
They'll probably decline any deal that doesn't include a hall of famer but here's my idea:

Lopez, Markkanen, Mirotic, Holiday, 2018 1st and 2020 1st to the Pelicans

Davis and Asik to the Bulls.

During FA we should have around 35 mil. Cousins might want to play here with Davis and we could sign Wilson Chandler to fill in the SF position

Hell yes, but I don't think that sways Cleveland.

Hell no.

Bad or mediocre teams trading future 1sts makes for disaster, see Brooklyn over the last half decade. Absolute nightmare.

Brooklyn's failure was not protecting their picks.

The question here is whether there Bulls can have two or one lotto pick.

They'll have two elite lotto picks, one in 2018 and one in 2019. Not one elite lotto pick and one in the low teens.

Crazy Trade Idea:

Bulls Trade: Nikola Mirotic, Robin Lopez, Justin Holiday
Bulls Get: Pelicans 1st Round Pick, Cavs 1st Round Pick, Joe Johnson, Omer Asik, Thabo Sefolosha, and Alexis Ajinca

Pelicans Trade: 2018 1st Round Pick, Omer Asik, Alexis Ajinca
Pelicans Get: Derrick Favors and Justin Holiday

Cavaliers Trade: 2018 1st Round Pick, Jae Crowder, and Iman Shumpert
Cavaliers Get: Robin Lopez and Rodney Hood

Jazz Trade: Derrick Favors, Rodney Hood, Joe Johnson, and Thabo Sefolosha
Jazz Get: Nikola Mirotic, Jae Crowder, and Iman Shumpert

Yes let's get the worst contract in the NBA over the next 3 years for a 1st. :banghead:

If Bulls bring Noah back they cement themselves as a joke again.

You do know he is a bum that still thinks he can and wants to play now.?

That would be just as genius as the Knicks giving him that contract in the first place.

You are objectively wrong.

Knicks gave Noah that contract when the writing was already on the wall, and got no other assets in the process.

Bulls would be taking on that contract for just over half of its length, and taking on two longer term assets in the process.

You may think it's stupid, but they're not on the same level of stupid.

You guys think SVG would be willing to deal Stanley Johnson for Justin Holiday?

Let me just clarify that I have no faith in Johnson, but I don't think we'll be able to get anything really usefull for Holiday, who won't be a part of our future.
So we might just take a flier on a guy from a team that clearly is going all out and have little incentive to keep him.
Constantly underwhelmed by the Bulls.
