The Pelicans have gathered "significant momentum in pursuit" of Greg Monroe according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry has already been in touch with Monroe and they will continue to make "an aggressive push to sign" him. The Pelicans can offer him the chance to start at center with DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles) out for the season, something the Celtics, Spurs or maybe even the Wizards can't do. Monroe is expected to make a decision as soon as Friday or Saturday and his fantasy owners should be rooting for a move to New Orleans.

With Mirotic now, I think that might take Monroe out of the equation for them. They're only a little more than 1 Mil under the tax as well.
