I have no idea why they didn't just wait a week to see if something out of left field materialized but it should be noted the Suns are under the cap and will be under the cap this summer so there wasn't as much motivation to use that expiring contract before the deadline. They can still do a similar trade where they take a contract plus an asset this summer with the space created by Monroe for a team desperate to land a FA. And by waiting for this summer they also leave the option open to simply signing a FA into that space if they feel that player is more valuable than what they would be back in a salary dump trade.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Tony Allen also included in that deal, but will be released. I actually wouldn't mind him off the bench

Lebron with the Warriors. Just cancel the NBA for the next few years at least if that actually somehow happened.

The funny thing would be watching all the Lebron James fanboys try to convince every one else that it’s different from what Durant did. I have already heard a number of reasons that Lebron to GSW would be different than Durant’s decision.

Heard this when the Lakers added the Male-man and G-Love to their squad. Ol' Coathanger Shoulders couldn't make it work, tho.

After Zach Lowe and Lee Jenkins spent ten mins on the pod yesterday calling them stupid for not taking Niko with next year's salary locked in, the Pels probably had a change of heart. Of course this also means the Niko locker room problem in Chicago was even greater than advertised, i.e. the Bulls dumping him and taking back dead Asik money.

It wasn't that long ago that Omer Asik was a very effective NBA player. Wild how fast things change.

Payton and Malone were well past their prime at that point. LeBron could absolutely make it work with Durant/Curry/Draymond. But I don't think it'll happen...I actually think Klay Thompson is the perfect fit for a roster like that.

The LeBron to the Warriors thing is never going to happen. Haynes is a hack.
LeBron and Durant would have to take like $20m next year and they would have to trade Draymond and Klay.

The problem was that the Pels were so close to hard cap that they couldn't take on the extra salary that Asik>Mirotic straight swap would've meant.

So now they throw in the extra guys to clear a few mill to get under that hard cap.

Good deal for them. You'd have thought it would take a pick just to get rid of Asik early, but they got a useful player out of it too.

Hope Monroe goes there, and then Allen gets to OKC when he's waived.

Dragic replacing Love
Shoot, Move, and Communicate...

I like Dragic but he does not deserve it this year. We need to stop with this rewarding winning ****. Better players having better seasons are getting screwed over purely because they don't play on better teams.

Yeah Dragic was not even close to the best candidate, he shouldn't have been in consideration at all in fact. Kemba, Middleton, Simmons were all clearly better candidates

Dragic over Kemba is just stupid as ****. Even Middleton and Bledsoe have a better case. But oh, Heat are 29-22 while the Bucks are 27-22. Much difference...

I agree, but LBJ is on the backslide, KD is 30 next year and Curry's ankles are a constant concern. They could go from automatic to out in the first round within a readily imagined scenario. Unlikely, but it doesn't make them an automatic wrap, either.

Yeah dumb ASG decision. I thought Love's replacement had to be a frontcourt player?

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
