Grant could get moved. With Dunn and Payne hurt we would need a PG.

flipping nelson for a second would be prudent although might be optimistic. i'd obviously have to take back anything bad i said about dumping a second in the mirotic trade if they pulled that off

i imagine they are primarily holding onto nelson and allen as potential salary filler if needed ahead of the trade deadline, though. i don't really see nelson sticking around after dunn is healthy (unless grant gets traded, in which case he probably doesn't stick around after payne is healthy)

It’s no surprise, then, that the Knicks have interest in the Nets’ athletic defensive forward, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, 23, but The Post reported Brooklyn seeks a first-rounder.

Anyone willing to swap NO pick for RHJ? His evolution totally reminds me of Butler and a good guy to put next to Lavine.

I think we need a scorer at SF. If we drafted a big with our pick then maybe, but I'd still rather roll the dice on younger high potential player. If RHJ had big potential the Nets wouldn't have him available for just a first. I think we should swing for the fence on every move.

I'd give New Orleans first for Oubre if it falls below 15, but the Wizards wouldn't do that.

I think the Pels got Nelson after he was waived, so I don't see us getting anything at all for him.

Oh that's an interesting one. RHJ is a stud.

Too risky and high priced to trade a first for 1.5 seasons of a wing who can't shoot.

Sooo what... trade em all for a bad contract or 2 for a mid/l8 first? About our only option, if that.

I love this kid and would do it, but we don't know where the Pels pick will fall since it has little protection. If AD goes down with an injury it could be worth a ton.

Current spots in the draft

Chicago/Brooklyn - 7/8
New York - 10
New Orleans - 17

No chance i'm paying all that to move up 7 spots.

Mo Harkless, Noah Vonleh, #1 for Cam Payne, Justin Holliday

Why for the Blazers: They go from 2.7 over the tax to well under as well as acquire a decent SF who can shoot (something their wings simply cannot do)
Why for the Bulls: They spend money they'd have to on the floor anyway and buy a first and hope Harkless can regain some of the ability he showed last year.

Yeah, the Knicks and Nets picks are way too close to give up the Pelicans pick, Holiday and Lopez. You're even taking on an extra 10-11 mill on Shumpert for 2018-2019.

You're moving up 3-5 spots. MAYBE that's worth the Pelicans pick. But not the players AND additional bad salary.

So what's next for the Bulls? I haven't heard any chatter for Robin Lopez or Holiday

I want Noah nowhere near this roster.

I think we could dump Holiday and Grant without tanking any crap back. Really don't care what we get back as it isn't a burden.

Grant for Mudiay is still the logical swapping of backup PG that makes sense and I doubt Denver is going to be upset to get a more consistent, if not good, backup PG where as the Bulls roll the dice Mudiay flourishes in a more open and uptempo setting.

So, why do it, unless you maximize it? Dropping them off the roster helps you lose games. But, if you add back the bad contract, it can actually help you win long-term.

The cap space we'll be using isn't getting used on long term pieces in 2018-2019. And if we DO want to spend it in 2019-2020, we can stretch it. We aren't actually going to be hampered by Noah's contract.

And it COULD net you a top 10 pick in a very solid draft. May only be 6-7 impact types, but I'd love to add a guy like Knox, one of the Bridges, or Carter, with a pick obtained by taking on Noah.

Or trade that pick, with the Pelican pick and wind up with 2 picks in the top 7.

No team is giving up a lottery pick just to dump salary. I also don't see the Bulls going into the luxury tax for a rebuilding team that is years away from contention. I'd be happy with just losing more game this year since none of those guys have a future here.
