WHERE: AT&T Center, San Antonio, TX
TV: TNT National Broadcast

This... is a big one. February games don't come much bigger, and against a fantastic Houston team that's 8-2 in its last 10 and who's bearded best just hung the first 60-point triple-double in league history, we're going to have our hands full. Kawhi's defense on Harden will be sorely missed and it won't surprise me if Pop plays his key guys reservedly as a psychological tactic of downplaying the significance of this one. With Chris Paul and Eric Gordon both question marks, though, anything can happen.

I understand we are still fighting through the injuries but this game is important if we want any chance of climbing back into the 2 seed. I really don't think Pop sees that as important so I doubt Houston sees our best effort anyway. Houston has something to prove, we do not. I don't think we are playing well enough at this point to keep up with their scoring so I'm not expecting much. Hopefully I'll be surprised.

This is pretty much exactly my take as well.

Right well somewhere between getting up for this one and it's a game like any other, I'd like to see some nasty tenacity on defense throughout the game, and everything else flowing from that. It's more about our own effort and execution in what we want to establish.

A challenge will be rotating quickly enough to guard 3s, something we've been a bit too lax about. Also, if Danny can't find his 3 early, I hope he drives and kicks out to someone who has. I don't want to see another 1-7 or 2-9 night; he's been a poor 24.4% in January, after a good 40% in December. Bryn and Kyle have been alternating excellent games; it would be wonderful if they each had one on the same night, locked in with all other Spurs rolling well. We can't get caught up in the opponent's style of play, and have to play intelligent, intense basketball for 48 minutes.

GO SPURS!

Early opinions:

We are settling for really bad shots against this horrible defensive team. Danny Green of all people is actually driving and scoring well.

We just have too many guys trying to create their own shot who are not used to playing that way and it shows by us not being able to score well. And against this team that is certain death.

Rough game. We were just overmatched from the tip off and we didn't do ourselves any favors early on either. This is one of those games where we needed Kawhi and/or Rudy.
