What a finish. Almost choked it away. Luckily Lowry one upped Beal.

The tally so far!

Wall x5
Scott x3
Gortat x3
Oubre x2

Otto forsure. Beal was a warrior, but Otto does it on a much lower usage and half as many shots. His rebounding saved that game.

I’m going Brad as he scored and took over in that 3rd which changed the game.

Otto was playing good defense and getting boards. Hope he heals up after that rebound with Lowry. Just big time plays and FTs down the stretch.

But Scott kept the team in the game

Mahinmi shockingly played well

Sato did what he did last game but he got some points, the floater he hit with 3 min was a big shot

Oh and Meeks actually hit a couple 3s. But he SHOULD have been doing that for the last two months.

I'll give it to Otto because Bradley Beal made one of the most incredibly bad plays with 2.6 seconds left.

Overall, Beal was fantastic in the second half and so was Otto Porter.

Could give it to a bunch of guys.

I went with Otto, largely for his rebounding down the stretch.

But Beal was great. Patient in the first half, unstoppable in the third. And he even hit clutch free throws.

Scott was outstanding. Mahinmi played out of his skin. Kief was good. Gortat did well.

Man, I almost want to say Otto Porter because his job on Derozan while still having his fingerprints all over the game was impressive, but you can't ignore Beals scoring in the 2nd half, the 3rd quarter in particular.

I can forgive that turnover at the end given the outcome and his ridiculous scoring in the third.

Yeah, it's a choice between Porter or Beal and you can't go wrong either way.

I'm going with Beal because I loved how he approached the game and dealt with the first half shooting slump. The Beal of two months ago would have gone 1-11 in the first half instead of 0-6. But last night, Beal didn't force any shots to try and shoot himself out of the slump. He mostly just drew Toronto's trapping defenders toward him and then set up others while sorting out exactly how Toronto was defending him. In the 2nd half after he figured Toronto out, he was marvelous. And he gets extra bonus points for his clutch free throw shooting down the stretch.

Porter was doing Porter things, which is always good, but I really felt that Beal was the catalyst last night.

Another solid game from just about everyone. Porter's 11 rebounds were important to the game, but Beal's 3rd quarter makes him the POTGZ for me. Then he iced those free throws in the 4th - a month ago or longer he would have pee'd his dacks and missed.

Beal in late Jan to now has been playing like an all-star on the verge of becoming a true star.

I remember in the first few years we were doing the old "who will player pan out to be" comparisons. I remember saying Hersey Hawkins. I think there was also Eric Gordon, and the much closer comparison to Mitch Richmond. In that 3rd quarter he absolutely looked like Ray Allen at his best.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Return to Washington Wizards
