Re: Let's Talk About Mario
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Only 21 years old, Dwight Howard already
says he wants to retire in Orlando.
He committed to sticking around for a while longer Thursday, as
the former No. 1 overall pick signed a five-year contract extension
worth approximately $80 million.
"Me and Mickey Mouse will be here forever," Howard joked.

We are who we are. You dont cherry pick some random dude`s quote and correlate it with a mentality that you can not posibly comprehend. Pride, passion, allegiance, friendship comes very, very different there. I am sure Pepe could say more on this particular matter.
On the other hand, if it was me... i would run, never ever turning my head.

Re: Let's Talk About Mario
Mario's value tanks because his acquiring team cannot re-sign him if he shows anything.
I think he's already showing the NBA his skillz almost every game now........So Mario is in a similar situation as Derrick Favors of Utah. A team trading for Favors has him as a rental unless or until they can sign him before anyone else.Teams trading for these two are more than likely wanting to sign them for their team.

That "random dude" is one of the best players to play for our franchise ever and somebody who we afforded every opportunity to, much more than we've afforded Mario. Granted, he's a piece of ****, and Mario seems like a good guy. I'm not doubting Mario's intentions or his allegiance, etc, but I still think it's a long shot that he would want to stay when we haven't really given him the greatest opportunity to show his skills here. He owes us nothing.

Howard is just another name from around the world. His actions made him random.
And ye, who knows what the future brings, he might bolt... but 22 year olds are usually still uncorrupted (if brought up with alot of value, which he is) like da`wight was at that age.

If he continues to play well he'll leave because he'll get a significantly better offer from another team.

WeHam didnt want to but they requested it at the time as Mario was getting no minutes and wanted a new role. Weham obviously didnt have any sort of grasp on the players and team in the beginning of the year and obliged. Hopefully now with the bigger role maybe Mario can indeed be convinced to stay, I mean he clearly has chemistry with AG and Elf. Although I dont see elfrid returning next year.
This makes sense of everything. I thought they were crazy not picking that up.

One thing we will have on our side is time. It will take a while for free agency to get down to Mario’s level. Big moves and money, then the smaller deals. We can come out of the gate with years and certainty at 12:01

True. But the guy is european, its easy for him to go back to europe right away, after his contract, if money is right.

Re: Let's Talk About Mario
and then he gets some big offer and says I did mean it in a differennt way
I was simply speaking about myself in a 3rd person haha
but other than that yeah I really hope they are working on him otherwise it will look really bad in our GMs resume and atm they look like complete tools.
As I have said Mario gonna prove you all wrong and it seems he did.

doesnt have to be big. They could offer $7mil with a promise of more playing time than he got here.

Don't be silly, Hezonja is an NBA player and he'll stay there for many years to come.
Anyhow, I'm still hoping we can keep him but can we? That's a tough one, we'll see.

I'm not gonna lie, he is. I've bben a Mario believer since Day 1. But he has wider option that most people free agents, IMO. If he gets more money in Europe, I don't see any reason he won't go back.

I'm Euro American living in Europe. I know what I'm talking about.
There's no way Hezonja gets paid more in Europe than here in the NBA. TOP European salaries are around 3-4 million dollars annually. And only 2 or 3 guys there get paid that kind of cash.

Yeah. If it comes down to money, he will stay in the NBA. Given the way his first few seasons have played out, I wouldn't be surprised if he was more than a little homesick though. It's been a long time since I've seen anything out of Hezonja that even resembles excitement. He shows a bit of frustration after he is whistled on a bad foul call, but he doesn't celebrate his great plays. He just champs his mouthpiece. Perhaps it is maturity or perhaps he is just waiting to get out of this situation. I don't know.
I'd love if we could find a way to keep him as he has clearly turned a corner.

I think when it comes to hezonja it's not just about money... even if he was homesick I don't see him leaving unless the league kicks him out...
now that Vogel was forced to give him an opportunity to be on the court... he proved he belongs in the NBA... and he did it by not forcing anything or just "trying to get his" attitude... and it's kinda crazy how he pulled it off... because let's be honest the only way for him to prove the NBA he belongs was he had to play with that "just trying to get his" attitude and show individual numbers because they are indeed evaluating him as an individual player... but he somehow pulled it off within vogels system... which Hezonja seems to be the last option on the floor...
I think what hezonja's looking for is a team that will give him the most minutes on the floor... allow him more freedom on the court and allow him to work more on his offense... with Vogel still running the show next year i just can't see him staying on this team... i hope he does but i only see him getting like 15 mins a game if he stays... unless the team does a complete makeover...
I can see few teams that could offer him the opportunity that he seeks and if Orlando doesn't match that he's def gone...
