Here’s a good article on the topic: http://www.otgbasketball.com/single-post/2018/01/30/Is-Orlando’s-Aaron-Gordon-an-NBA-Max-Contract-Player

Won't say too much since I'm on my phone. But I mentioned before I believe Magic would consider trading AG since they got a new FO. I would absolutely trade for him, something like a future protected first, Bender and that's it. Let him hut RFA and match an offer sheet that pays him around $15mil a year. Not many teams will throw around max money anymore. Also, AG numbers have been declining every month like Bookers has, because teams are planning for them only. He would be more efficient with Book and Warren.

Also Spurs interested in SJ is very interesting IMO...

Maybe there's a reason the Magic are trading him?

But DRJ makes a good point - you leave ORL, you blow up.

I just like our current PFs. PLUS, you trade for Gordon, and there goes your ability to sign good FAs this summer. I vote to stand pat, but I almost always do.

If he has the perception to gather the max, I say absolutely not. But if he's around 16m a year, it's worth a look to see what you can trade for him.

If you are not willing to give him the max, you don't trade for him. You sign him to an offer sheet as a RFA to what you are willing to pay and if it gets matched you don't overpay, if not, he's yours for free.

Another reason the Knight trade was so dumb. We didn't pay him the max (Thank God) so why not just offer him what we were willing to pay in FA? We traded the Lakers pick just to have the right to match, but of course no one wanted to give him an offer sheet.

AG and Book are putting butts in the seats. Great future with them and JJ. Oh and remember AG sister from the all star event. ;)
Oh and AGs mom used to work at Intel, think she just recently retired. Believe she worked at the campus in AZ, also reason why they had Intel drone from dunk contest with AG, great advertising. Just FYI.

Orlando obviously doesn't want to max Gordon.

I'd take him for cheap, but I don't want to give up too much.

This is where the Greg Monroe thing is infuriating. We could have used him as a potential piece for getting Gordon.

I don’t think Monroe could have been used in a trade for AG. Monroe is $12mil more, and they don’t have the cap room to accommodate that trade. So who would we take back, that they would want to move?

Bender or Chriss + MIA 1st for Gordon seems like a good deal for both sides

No way. Seriously?????

TJ is locked into a bargain deal, is still improving, and is a quiet/humble guy.

We'd trade him only to max AG? Pass. Easy pass!

I'm thinking the Suns want to keep Bender and Chriss. Othwerise this might be done already.

If this was even an option, we might also have to take back Biyombo which would mean including Monroe and we can't do that anymore.

Thats why Orlando would want him.
Gordon isn't screaming to get out of Orlando or demanding a trade. His value is higher than Chriss(project) and Miami pick(low 20's?).

If the magic think Isaac is their future 4 then they may want a locked in 3.

Other than being locked in, what you said about TJ applies to Gordon as well, except he fits the immediate need of being a good 4 while we have JJ waiting to take that spot as starter.

Actually I would do this 100% as well.

Warren is soft on defense. All he is (Melo-Lite)

Gordon is 22 . Improved his shot, athletic , good defender, and hustles

I would rather have him going forward.

Why did you use per game and not per 36 and why did you pick rookie seasons?

What happens when you change both to their 2nd season @20 years old?

I would do either Chriss or Bender plus the Heat pick for Gordon

Who is SJ?

What is the Max for Gordon? And realistically how much could he be had for in the offseason that Orlando wouldn't match?
