Not really his fault other players didn't show up. From what I understand he had to go to the locker room for some time for some reason while the game slipped away (I tuned in when he was out and then returned from the locker room to the bench). By the time he'd returned the game had already slipped away. Are we really going to point to the one guy who showed up and not mention that the rest didn't?

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

OK, then it is karma! Karma works indirectly from outside.

The Jazz were awarded half of Thabo's contract--$2.6M as an injury exception after he got injured around the halfway mark of the season. Does it mean that the Pelicans will get around $9M injury exception for Cousins?

Apparently its too late, injury exception has to be filed by Jan 15.

You're welcome, I am surprised they have a deadline though, it should end late March or at the trade deadline at least IMO.

Monroe to the Celtics.

Aaron Gordon being shopped by Orlando.
New York said Mitchell wasn't the guy you trade the sink for, then they traded it for Mikal, lol.

Is the deal for Monroe--paying him $5M--for this season, or next season?

Celtics get Monroe, Pelicans get Mirotic, Bulls got what they wanted and unloaded Mirotic for a 1st. The market for a Favors trade is getting smaller and smaller.

Smaller and smaller. Lets pray that LA is unwilling to move DeAndre for the Cavs pick and the Cavs are unwilling to send the Brooklyn pick and the Cavs want Favs for the Cavs pick.

I’d be shocked if Favors is traded I’ve felt this way for awhile, and now his market/options have shrunk.

If Favors could develop a reliable 3 pt shot (yes, a big IF), keeping him would be so worthwhile as long as he wasn't too expensive.

Favors standing at the three point line takes away the best part of his game. He also lacks all perimeter skills, not just shooting. I’ve grown tired of the Jazz trying to fit square pegs into round holes. Just get someone who actually plays the position and role well instead.

Agreed. Favors is a starting center in the new NBA - not a PF - and the Jazz need a PF with outside skills. Damn, Ainge for GM of the year? Gorald Heywood who? Favors is going to be fine in the league - but the chances of Jazz getting a favorable deal for him seem to have slimmed down some. That said, I don't see why CLE doesn't do a deal with the Jazz - everyone wins. Getting the needed PF doesn't have to happen this year.

Brook Lopez likely to be bought out per Bontemps. Another big on the market.

No it doesn't, just makes him more versatile, like Cousins, Davis and KAT. I'm not sure that he'll get to that point (he hasn't yet, but he did develop a mid-range game over the course of a year or so), but if he did, he would be a much more valuable player. I'm not proposing that the Jazz keep him, but if they did and if he developed a reliable shot (over 30%) it might work out. As it is, he is a decent center with good rim protection, but doesn't have the size to be one of the better centers.

First off, Favors shouldn’t be mentioned in the same sentence as those guys in terms of skill level. Forget about the shooting, he also has no other perimeter skills. If Favors can be like them, then every big can be like them.

Having him spot up brings him away from the rim by definition. Sure, he can still find some opportunities around the basket, but being a rim runner should always be the focus of his game. He is bad at everything else offensively.

Adding skill is never bad, but if you really need some shooting at the 4, just get someone that can shoot. I don’t understand the logic into putting new players in a role that highlights their weaknesses and diminishes their strengths.

I’m tired of it. I don’t want to develop Favors into a 3 point shooter, and I don’t want to develop Rubio into George Hill. We should get guys that compliment Mitchell and Gobert...not ones that do the opposite and then try to develop the bad parts of their games.
