Didn't see a game thread yet. I watched some of Gray's highlights. Looks like it has decent court vision. Hope he performs well

I'm missing why the Magic would even bother consdiering that deal. They are trying to get blown away before the deadline otherwise he'll get extended.

I think this max contract for Gordon talk is crazy. Other than maybe Brooklyn trying to pry away a player by considerably overpaying again like they did the last few off-seasons no team is gonna offer him a max. GMs have learnt from their and everyone else's mistakes during the pre cap increase off-season.
Look at all these crazy dead weight deals out there hamstringing teams now.
No way Gordon is a max player in 2018.

no way I part with Jackson OR an unprotected 2018 Suns pick for Gordon.
If Jackson can show this much improvement and potential 50 games in to his first season.... and has shown hunger and passion to get better and compete.... his potential is just too enticing to give him up for a non legit star player.

Gordon is far better than Chriss. Better passer, shooter, rebounder, 3pt shooter basketball IQ. What kind of joke of a GM is going to take chriss and a 2nd rounder or 2?
Come on dude at least do your homework 1st... Whos who in this case and dont look it up this is the 2nd year in the NBA for both players and one was a little younger than the other at the time.

I dont care about 2nd year stats. I care about now. Chriss cant dribble, hes not a good rebounder, his energy is not even close to Gordons, he cant pass like Gordon, his IQ is about as bad as it comes and judging from last summer his work ethic is pretty poor.

gordon matches chriss athleticism and has better passing/bbiq
Gordon has shown that he KNOWS how to play the game.... Chriss although has the tools... is really struggling to "get it" mentally... and how many talented players in the past that ended up as role players only because they didnt have the mental side of things (Beasley, Waiters etc)

I'd be willing to part with Warren. I think he is a great sell high candidate. Unless Point Book is a real thing I don't think Warren will be in our long term plans. JJ is going to be a better player and creates redundancy at the 3.
A lot of people see Warren as a 6th man candidate. I don't agree with that sentiment especially after watching his play when Book was out. Traditionally, an effective 6th man is a play-maker that can create his own shot. That isn't Warren's strength. He excels in transition and off ball movement.

I love the overall fit and his potential as a third scorer on this team.
So you'd trade all that for just matching rights? Would you trade Jackson?
What does Jackson have to do with any of this. We wouldn't trade JJ for AG, if we did the Magic would have to add value here. Or are you saying that it would likely take a top 5 pick to get the Magic to trade AG? Because even that isn't equal value.
If they are considering trading him it's because they don't want to give him a max, like you mentioned. Still, some team may offer him that and then the Magic would let him go for nothing, or they match a 4 year max, and during those 4 years are trying to develop Isaacs, their 2018 1st, and any other youngsters. It could be a waste of cap space especially if they don't believe in him to be that franchise cornerstone.
I could see the Magic trading him for one of Chriss/Bender, or Warren plus the Bucks and Heat pick, and the Suns top 5 protected 2019 pick. That's a good rebuilding package, though they likely want to trade a bad contract too, but I doubt they'd have any bidders then, or the package would be significantly less because then it would be roughly 30% of cap space to take on AG. And again I don't see any team making that kind of maneuver.
Also I think the package I mentioned would be far greater than what other teams would offer, and honestly don't think it will even take that much to get him.
You think Jackson has more trade value than Gordon? The financial situation is preferable obviously which I guess would be a reason why...but outside of that...
For the record, I wouldn't trade Jackson for him but I'm certainly not sure he has more trade value...I think most non biased nba fans would say Gordon does.

No way I trade Booker, Warren, Jackson or 2018 Suns pick for Gordon.
Those picks are here for trades...we are not gonna add three or four rookies. We want to add one great prospect, just that.
And if it is true that we want to compete and be a solid team next season we need to value trading that 2019 pick, with obviously some protection.
I wouldn't either, but I think what people will think it would take is probably more than it would, because, in the end they'd rather keep him they take back late draft picks and unproven prospects. They probably want a proven young player or nice draft pick to trade him...probably preferably both.
But I'm sure later people will say "We should have traded for Gordon" even though when it comes right down to what it would have taken to get him, they wouldn't have wanted to give it up for him.

When I think of AG, I think about:
Michael Carter Williams
Empty stats
38% shooting
Inconsistency
Drunk contest
Potential
Max contract
Combine all that and I'm not willing to give up that much.

I want to get Gordon and then max out Klay Thompson ..... it won’t haooen but we would be the lightest skinned nba team
Trae Young next year in draft as well
Trae Young
Booker
Klay Thompson
Gordon
Tyson chandler
That’s a fun team with good defense in the front court

disagree..
Jackson is primarily a potential elite perimeter defender.... Gordon isnt a perimeter defender primarily, he is a PF.

I'm not a John Wall fan but that situation with him and Beal is very interesting. Now I'm wondering if they'll consider trading Wall
