The veteran swingman is on the market and may have an interested party.
Now, Michael Scotto of The Athletic has shed some specific light on a team that could have interest, indicating that the Philadelphia 76ers have “kept tabs” on Belinelli in recent days.
Within the same piece, Scotto notes that the Hawks have a “FOR SALE” sign hanging for most of the roster at this point, with specific notes concerning both Belinelli and Ersan Ilyasova. Belinelli’s shooting (career 38 percent flip from three-point range) would likely be the focus for Philadelphia in trade and, in short, they have plenty of draft capital (and young players) to throw around in potential deals.
It is also interesting to note that the report discusses a rumored package that would have sent Belinelli and Ilyasova to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for Omer Asik’s less than ideal contract and a first round pick.
Philly has a plethora on 2nds.
2018 from BKN/CAVS (more favourable).
2018 from HOU
2018 from LAC/NYK (more favourable)

Re: Atlanta Hawks Official Trade Ideas Thread (Part 2)
He'd be a fool to do so given his injury history. It would be like that great Kyrie debate where it was suggested he not take his extension. He only proceeded to become both the second banana and break his kneecap to end that same season.
As the other participant in that debate, I'm pretty sure it was actually about Kyrie forcing his way out of CLE via trade...by not signing their extension offer.
But ultimately, I agree Porzingis might be risking too much to utilize that same tactic.

Back on topic though, sounds like the Noah situation is becoming more and more untenable (does that make is tell tenable?). I'd love to facilitate a trade if we can fleece some assets from NYK.
I'm sure Porzingis loves the (lack of)direction in this franchise. Not that I'm a huge fan of Porzo necessarily but ... well, you know what I mean.
Porzy should pass on signing an extension. His agent brother already made reference to such a thing awhile back.

He can let them know he's not interested in resigning when the season ends and request a trade.
They don't have to accommodate him, but will NYK risk it.

It's the same deal. Take the extension, demand a trade later. The Knicks have the upper hand because of RFA, Porzingis would have to take the greater risk of threatening to play out on his QO.

Some of the Baze to Detroit stuff can be funny. Will try and post if I get to an actual computer.

I think the one that was proposed was Galloway, Leur, Johnson, and Ellenson (sp? 2nd year player who apparently is awful, but Pistons fans think the moon of him) along with some 2nds.
The debate was whether Baze was worth it and that they should take out Ellenson since Baze doesn't have the value to return a first or a rookie contract player.
Then there was the offer of Galloway and Ellenson for Belinelli too.

Trade with Bucks.
Mike Muscala and Malcolm Delaney (stop gap for Brogdon missing 6-8 weeks) for Thon Maker and DJ Wilson.

What the Hawks do Vaughn/ DJ Wilson and a 2nd rounder for Dedmon?
If so, who would you guys cut from your roster?

I guess it is better than nothing, but the fit is horrible. Wilson has lost value and would be, at best, a backup to Collins for us. He is young and a former first round pick, but at a position where we have a player who is better and is young as well.

What is Atlanta looking for for Dedmon and/or Bazemore?
Would Crowder, Frye (expiring), and Zizic interest you guys or no.

Picks are the major interest.
Dedmon was already an underrated player but now he's gotten the Budenholzer stimulus package so the CLE 2018 1st rounder would be the asking price or at minimum relaxing the protections on the 2019 first owed.
Bazemore has managed to play his way out from being just an albatross contract so there may be some incentive to extract some value for him outside of getting cap savings. That being said I think that package gets you only him by himself. Frye is some cap savings, Crowder is entirely redundant as there's already a younger and cheaper version of him on the roster that's outperforming him this season and Zizic is likely immediately waived.
A creative idea for attaining both for that package would be organizing a pick swap between the ATL 1st and BRK 1st with Atlanta getting the better of the two picks. At best Cleveland stays around 8th, at worst they still pick top 4.

The Hawks are expected to make moves but who’s more likely to be dealt?
the Hawks are sellers, and you can almost guarantee that they will make at least one move at/near the trade deadline...who’s for sale? Who’s likely to be dealt by/on the deadline on Thursday.
The two names that immediately spring to mind are Marco Belinelli and Ersan Ilyasova.
The reason why their names have seemingly come up more in trade rumors than any other Hawks is that they both have very serviceable skill-sets in today’s NBA (both are above average three-point shooters), both are on team-friendly deals, both are on expiring contracts.
If I had to pick one, Ilyasova (signed to a one-year deal in the summer) would probably be the most sure candidate to be traded. Belinelli could possibly be more a buyout candidate than a piece someone trades for: entirely possible a team may not want to give up a draft pick (or other compensation) for Belinelli.
Another trade candidate is Hawks center Dewayne Dedmon, who signed a two-year deal last summer with a player option for the second year.
I would be very surprised if Belinelli and Ilyasova are with the team past the deadline/March 1st.
But, look, at the end of the day everyone is tradable and the Hawks should be listening to calls for anyone and everyone.
That includes Kent Bazemore, that includes Taurean Prince, that includes Dennis Schröder and, yes, that includes John Collins for the right price/in the right deal — that is a very important detail to distinguish.

Re: Atlanta Hawks Official Trade Ideas Thread (Part 2)
Willy Hernangomez (Knicks) requested a trade. Former pick #35. 23 years. His value is low since he hasn't played much this year but played well his rookie year last year. 2 years left and $1.5 mil per.
Should the Hawks be interested? Is our 2018 2nd too high?
Or how about the 2019 2nd from MIN/LAL.

I don’t know but I heard from Brent Barry on 2k that he’s Willy Willy good
Jk all jokes aside (I’ll be here all week btw) I think Hernangomez is an excellent player. I would definitely trade a 2nd rounder for him if that’s the direction Bud wants to go. Him and his brother in Denver remind me of a lighter version of the Gasol’s...ala light mayo or salad dressing...
I also think that anyone on the Knicks is better on a different team. So Willy’s value might be a 1st rounder in reality but the Knicks are so dysfunctional you can’t tell what a player can and can’t do.

1st, and most importantly, I gave you that 'and1' because of the 2k joke.
2nd, I agree WHG is the type of prospect we should be looking to acquire. Unfortunately, it's likely the Knicks will be looking to attach that awful gangrene (hm, spelled that right on the 1st try?) known as Joakim Noah syndrome to a deal. Totally not worth it, if so.
Once they come to their senses and realize no one's gonna take that albatross, I'm sure they'll settle on a decent 2nd.
On a semi-related note, cute how the 1st Hawk-related WHG trade on the trade board has us taking Noah back. SMDH
