if that's what it takes to get him out of the starting line up yes.
If the trade value is for a bag of chips and we can use him off the bench until healthy no.

Absolutely, if the opportunity is there I would trade IT. Team chemistry has took a dive since he has started playing. He has definitely lost value the way he has played. Teams that I think the Cavs may be able to do deals with like Phoenix and Sacramento probably don't want him back. I would check Orlando since Payton is pretty bad but in a deal I would want the Cavs to land Fournier, Vucevic, Gordon, or Biyambo. I know it would take IT and a lot more for any of them but it be worth it.

Orlando has the worst paint defense in the league when Biyombo has started for the soon to return from injury Vucevic who also is not a good defender but at least has an offensive game besides dunks. Payton is a solid defender and a good PG,just doesn't fit the mold of modern scoring points. I would trade Isaiah and Jose for Payton and Iwundu and filler (Hezonja )without blinking. Gordon would cost too much , Fournier doesn't work unless Smith is shipped etc https://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/7012800Truthful1 wrote:Absolutely, if the opportunity is there I would trade IT. With Love hurt we should be. I would think we should be looking for defensive help on the perimeter though. Send him somewhere to a tanking team where he can jack up shots and help them lose.

Doesnt it all depend on what our goals are?
If its to be a contender to the Warriors, I dont think Anderson is anywhere close to the solution.
I like targetting wings / guards that can create offense and space the floor semi-competently. Prime example is Barton.
We also have Frye for those 2nd units with LBJ at the 4 and a floor spacer at the 5 so feels like Anderson would be extremely redundant.

I'm thinking the Cavs are over the cap, Ryan Anderson is on an awful contract, IT makes a third of what he does and is expiring, and no I'm not helping the Rockets clear cap space to sign LBJ this summer without real incentive.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

To answer the OP, yes I'd like to see IT traded because he's awful defensively and the Cavs aren't constructed in a manner that they can compensate for his defensive shortcomings. Also, I'd rather not watch LBJ Game 5 the rest of the season.

I like the Barton idea as well. And Anderson's contract is bad, but he can hit shots. Are we moving Frye in another deal? If so Anderson could replace Frye, at a higher cost though.
There is so much up in the air and the team is such a mess that I have no idea what this team's goal is at this point.

Thomas as trade filler at this point works. It’s exhausting watching the team work at cross purposes. Not since Lebron returned has it felt like the team was aligned.

If he isn't traded the entire roster should walk off

I think it's obvious. He's an unrestricted free agent who has been detrimental to the team and wants to sign a max deal. There is absolutely no reason to keep him. I feel bad for him, but his attitude and his play this year has been really poor. If the cavs don't manage to move him, I could see him losing his role, maybe even ending his season prematurely.

Definitely, and I would trade him for just about anything. Washer, dryer, 2nd round pick or a bag of chips.

Re: Would You Want IT Traded at Deadline?
If Drew takes him out of the sl prior to tonight's game, since Lue won't have to take the heat for doing so from Gilbert, maybe Dan wakes up and moves Isaiah before the clock expires, but at this point I think we are stuck with him having to accept a bench role and being a distraction for the rest of the year. Maybe Altman will step up and find a reasonable deal that Gilbert won't reject but it seems unlikely since Gilbert is going to overvalue Isaiah based on what he gave up for him not what he is now
